Remembrances

“Rambunctious and irrepressible, that was Regina. I remember a day in 1975, a hot midafternoon on a Peoples Temple bus somewhere back east, when Regina came onto the bus. To be met by Ellie Beam at the top of the stairs. (The word "Duh," as a youthful slang retort, had just emerged into the vocabulary.) Regina: ...(to Ellie? someone behind her?) "Duh" (with feeling) Ellie: "Don't say 'Duh'" Regina, drawing herself up to her full height (she was short), and roundly declaring: "I say 'Duh' when I get ready!" Cracked us all up. ” - Kathy Barbour
