“The Final Punchline” by Garry Lambrev

Eye walk down these street a stranger

Those who died were my friends

Nobody will read about your deaths in the newspaper

Possibly nobody will ever know that you or your species

Even lived.

(This poem, written in March 1982, is from Dogstar and Poems from Other Planets, a book of poetry by former Temple member Garry Lambrev. His earlier writings for the site appear here. Garry can be reached at garrett1926@comcast.net.)
