June M. Cordell died in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 26, 2010 at age 82 following a stroke earlier that month. She is survived by her husband Gene. More than a dozen of their relatives died in Jonestown. Their writings appear here.
We learned recently that Joe Phillips, a prominent member of Peoples Temple during its Redwood Valley years, died in 2000. We also learned recently that Laurence Stern, an editor for The Washington Post who co-authored Guyana Massacre with Charles Krause in 1978, died in 1979.
