Letters to Dad

Following the deaths in Jonestown, the FBI recovered hundreds of notes, memos and letters written to Jim Jones. The content of these letters range from complaints about living conditions, to criticisms of other residents and suggestions for improving the community. Others confessed to sins and crimes, both real and fabricated. Still others expressed a willingness to die for the cause, either as revolutionary suicides in Guyana or as martyrs while taking care of enemies and traitors back in the United States. Most of the letters are undated.
