In addition to the affidavits Jim Jones filed about his relationship with Grace Stoen, other members of Peoples Temple were encouraged to write statements of their own. Each of them picks up on one or more of the themes in Jones’ assertions: that Grace Stoen was mentally unbalanced; that she was sexually promiscuous and aggresssive; that her relationship with her lover led her to abandon her son, John Victor Stoen; that these actions and conditions made her an unfit mother; and that John had suffered as a result of her neglect and abuse.
