Remembrances

“Lucy Crenshaw was the mother of Eddie Hallmon, aka Eddie Crenshaw, a momentous man whose dignity and weight were felt by all who met his level gaze and saw the integrity, honesty and courage in his eyes. Lucy was not so imposing, but her wisdom must have been highly valued, as she served on the Administrative Triumvirate staff. Lucy's son, Eddie, his wife, Francine, their daughter Tiquan, and another young lady named Joyce Brown (see Group Photos album, kitchen crew) who was either Lucy's niece, or her daughter, or her granddaughter (depending on which record is used) are all in the book. The mysterious Joyce Brown, soon to be profiled in a book "And Then They Were Gone" about the SF High Schoolers who attended Opportunity High School where Joyce was a poet. Joyce looks a lot like Lucy. RIP, matriarch of our quintessial ones, and mother to all, Lucy Crenshaw. Never forgotten. ” - Kathryn Barbour

“As a man in 2020 trying to discover his ancestry, I give my condolences to my great grandmother. May she rest in peace.” - Justin Crenshaw
