“Ruth Atkins was a self-starter and was quick to help others who needed assistance without being asked. She was an active senior who did not have any relatives with her at Jonestown, unless she is the mother of Lydia Atkins, 30, for whom we do not yet have a photo. She served as a needs worker, so was trusted with finances, and was also a cottage supervisor there. This is our only photo of Ruth. Ruth Atkins was one of the 9 persons discovered in 2012 in a Dover crematorium (her cremains). A widespread search for family members was unsuccessful in Ruth's case, and her remains were buried at Evergreen Cemetery after about 5 months, with the other unclaimed remains. RIP, dear Ruth, home at last. ” - Kathryn Barbour
