“I remember Rose Marie at school. We shared an art class together. She was always so happy and loved to make people laugh. I have an old picture that she took of me and another classmate...the only remembrance of her in that picture was her straw tote bag which she carried all the time. I was shocked and heartbroken when I heard about her passing in Jonestown..one that I will never forget. I miss you Rose Marie!! ” - Philene Gordon

Remembrance of Rose Marie McKnight ” - Philene Gordon

“I went to Chollas Elementary School with Rose and we were friends. She was such a nice person but kids teased her about her weight. She would cry sometimes. I have thought of Rose many times over the years and wondered what became of her. Recently, I attended my high school reunion and inquired about her. I was told she was a part of the Jonestown massacre. I refused to believe it until I found this site. I was still in denial until I saw her picture. It was the same sweet face I remembered from elementary school. I hope all the cruel teasing did not scar her and cause her to join Peoples Temple. It saddens me to know that such an extremely nice person died so tragically. I will always remember you Rose. ” - Carolyn Brooks-Provost
