“Always known as "Eddie," not related to any of the other Washingtons in the book, Eddie was our of our singles, and had no relatives with her in Jonestown. I remember Eddie as a tall, straight senior who looked and acted younger than her age, as you can see from her photograph. In Jonestown, Eddie was a rice worker. She and Edith Roller sat together at meetings, and Eddie would save Edith a seat in the front row between her and Gertrude Nailor, 68. Eddie was in Edith's adult class and helped on Edith's project to make a map of Africa, with all the countries, which occupied much of Edith's time, throughout August 1978, the last month for which there is a journal. May you rest in peace with the angels, Eddie. You are not forgotten.” - Kathryn Barbour
