Remembrances |

“Joicy was wiry and energetic, and an excellent communicator, skills she brought to a wide variety of activities. She was a counselor. I loved Joicy, so did everybody, for her brisk professional bearing, always being fun to work with, and hanging in there until the job was done. Proactive to the max, Joicy was very well-liked and respected by everyone. She came to Jonestown with no relatives and never paired, remaining one of our singles. I thank Joicy for her passing conversation with Edith Roller in June 1978, where she told Edith that Nancy Clay was the grandmother of Ollie and Eugene Smith's newborn baby, Martin Luther Smith. It filled in a branch of our family tree heretofore not known!!
RIP, dear Joicy. There will never be another you. You are so missed, but remembered always. ” - Kathryn Barbour |
