Remembrances

“The Ruggiero sisters from Eagle Rock, a creative community on the northern edge of Los Angeles, had very different personalities: Roseann, 19, was like a puppy, outgoing and shy at the same time, giggly, and quick to engage. A minute or two with her, and you felt you had a friend forever. Liz, her older sister, was mature beyond her years, kind, but quiet, reserved and serious. She was a registered nurse. In Jonestown, Liz's jobs were: Front Kitchen, Night Supervising Nurse, Pharmacy, and Internal Security. I wonder when she slept. If Liz (or her sister) had partners, they are not indicated on their pages. Dear Liz, I didn't know you, but I loved you. Your calm, graceful presence was so welcome, as was your matronly Italian serenity. Your tragic loss still hurts, but your memory will not fade. May you rest in eternal peace.” - Kathryn (Tropp) Barbour
