Remembrances |
|
“I am Janet's niece. I never got to meet her, as I was born in '97. I am the daughter of her brother Timothy Tupper Jones. I've been told that I resemble Janet, as well as her sisters, my other aunts, Ruth and Mary. To me, that is very bittersweet.
I am so thankful that this site has provided pictures of those lost in Jonestown, as it has given me the opportunity to see what Janet looked like. I have not known about my family's involvement in The Peoples Temple/Jonestown for very long, but since I found out, I have wondered about Janet. I've wondered about who she was and what she was like. I've wondered what it would be like if she was still alive today... what she would of done with her life. I hope one day I can learn more about her.
I'm so sorry you had your life taken from you, and at only 15 too. I can't imagine the fear you felt that day... the thought of it makes me tear up. I may have never met you, but I will never forget you, aAnt Janet.” - Taylor Jones |
