Remembrances |

“I saw two photos of you. One you were smiling and were dressed nice, the other you looked depressed and frightened. That's what Jonestown did to you what a shame.” - Anonymous“I am a niece of Mary. I never got the chance to meet her, as I was not born until '97. I am the daughter of her brother Timothy Tupper Jones. I've been told that I resemble her, as well as her sisters, my other aunts, Ruth and Janet. I think about that often.
I cannot express my gratitude for this site for providing pictures of those who died, as it gave me my first opportunity to see what Mary looked like. What a sweet smile she had! Ever since I found out about what happened to her and my other family members, I have wondered what kind of person she was. What made her laugh? What were her favorite things to do? I hope that one day I can learn more about her. How I wish I could have met her.
I am so sorry you lost your life in such a horrific way, and I cannot even imagine what went through your head that day. I may have never met you, but I won't forget you, Aunt Mary.” - Taylor Jones |
