“You confided to Jones about your suicidal feelings as heard in the documantary the people of peoples temple. It is a shame how Jones misguided you. May you rest in peace as you so deserve. ” - Casey Strain

“I first saw this cute young woman in a video. On the screen it showed her name and below that read "Died in Jonestown." When I saw that, it really hit a nerve. Seeing her alive but knowing she was now dead. And her not knowing what was going to happen as she talked about Jim Jones, I could feel a lump in my throat. She confided in Jones about her suicidal tendencies. It is so ironic that she would later die in a mass suicide, and as well one orchestrated by a man who was supposed to help her overcome these tendencies. I hope she is resting peacefully. And my heartfelt condolences go out to her family. Sincerely, Barry Odette Ontario Canada ” - Barry Odette

Janice Louise Wilsey: A Profile” - Heidi König-Porstner

“Janice was my second cousin. I was only 2 years old when this happened so everything I know of her came from my Gram, Eleanor (her Aunt). The family called her Wren. My gram said she went to the church in Ukiah with Wren one time, as Wren was so excited to share it with everyone. I started to write about my Gram’s thoughts and her experience there (it wasn’t good), but this is a memorial for Janice so I won’t. I will say that the family begged her not to go but she wouldn’t listen. When Wren left my Gram sent her with a baby picture of me because she said I brought her so much joy. I wish I had known her. I always scour the photos looking for her. I saw her in a video once and saved the clip. It made me so sad to think about her struggles and how those weaknesses were preyed upon and she had no clue. She didn’t deserve it. I pray that she didn’t die alone, that maybe someone was there and they were holding each other’s hands. I pray that she wasn’t scared at the very end - she wanted to be there, even if it was under false pretense, so I just hope that she found some peace somehow. I have always felt drawn to you Wren and I wish we had the opportunity to be a part of each other’s lives. I pray that you are resting in peace and that you are reunited with Uncle Hank and Aunt Barb and my Gram & Grace Wilsey too!” - Melissa R. (Cummings)
