Q822 Bullet from body of Christopher Lewis (1)

Result of examination:<\/p>\n
Specimens Q822 and Q824 are .22 Long Rifle copper-coated lead bullets which bear rifling consisting of 16 grooves, right twist. Specimens Q822 and Q824 were identified as having been fired from the same firearm; however, none of the firearms recovered at Jonestown, Guyana produce rifling characteristics like those in these specimens. Therefore, none of the recovered .22 caliber weapons could have fired specimens Q822 and Q824.<\/p>\n

Specimen Q23 is a .38 Special caliber copper-coated lead bullet which was fired from a barrel containing five groups, right twist. Although the K1, K2, K3, K4, K8, and K10 firearms which are listed in the Laboratory report 81219043 S NM, dated December 22, 1978 produce rifling impressions like those in specimen Q824, nothing was found to indicate that specimen Q824 had been fired from any of these weapons.<\/p>\n
The Q825 cartridge does not contain any microscopic marks of value for comparison with test specimens obtained from any of the weapons recovered at Jonestown, Guyana.<\/p>\n
