The writer is Erica Crosby, a high school friend, one of Annie\u2019s many correspondents outside of the Temple. It was recorded on January 21, 1973. Because the tape is unrelated to the Temple \u2013 other than as an expression of friendship to a Temple member from an \u201coutsider,\u201d the type of contact which the Temple discouraged \u2013 it was not transcribed.<\/p>\n<p>Annie herself was a prolific correspondent throughout her life. Her letters to her family are collected in the book, <a href=\"https:\/\/jonestown.sdsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/07\/Jonestown-Letters.pdf\">The Jonestown Letters<\/a> (1985), edited by Rebecca Moore. A complete collection of Annie\u2019s correspondence is accessible through the <a href=\"https:\/\/archives.sdsu.edu\/repositories\/2\/resources\/9\">San Diego State University Archives<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FBI Summary:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Date of transcription: 3\/7\/79<\/p>\n<p>In connection with the Federal Bureau of Investigation\u2019s investigation into the assassination of U.S. Congressman LEO J. RYAN at Port Kaituma, Guyana, South America, on November 18, 1978, a tape recording was obtained. This tape recording was located in Jonestown, Guyana, South America, and was turned over to U.S. Officials in Guyana and subsequently transported to the United States.<\/p>\n<p>On March 2, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B47 #97.
