DISCIPLINE GUIDELINES<\/u><\/p>\n

A. PUBLIC SERVICE OFFENCES [OFFENSES]:<\/u><\/p>\n

Serious fighting <\/u>(violent) when one is angry and definitely trying to cause injury.<\/p>\n

Physical vilence [violence] <\/u>(singular violent acts) deliberately hitting; kicking; trying to cut someone, tackling, with no seeming provaction [provocation]<\/p>\n

Ridiculing<\/u> another\u2019s physical apperance [appearance]<\/p>\n

Vandalism:<\/u> deliberate destruction of property of the collective (everything here belongs to the collective.)<\/p>\n

Stealing<\/u> taking something that is not your own without permission. Possession of a stolen item or stolen items.<\/p>\n

Malicious teasing <\/u>making fun of someone\u2019s sexual preferences, remarks of a personal nature involving others or relatives of one, mental deficiencies, lack of coordination, etc.<\/p>\n

Throwing rocks and other dangerous objects<\/u> in such a manner to cause injury.<\/p>\n

Provocation<\/u> behavior liable to causing another to fight, hit back, such as incessant teasing and teasing about things one knows is distasteful to another.<\/p>\n

Extreme boisterousness<\/u> disruptive behavior, loud behavior, playful, calling out in class having a temper tantru [tantrum], excessive talking, running around class.<\/p>\n

Extreme verbal <\/u>abuse cursing, talking down to peers, teachers, others.<\/p>\n

Deceit <\/u>copying\/cheating or giving answers in tests situations, witnesses to lies or half truths, giving false information, talking behind the back of others.<\/p>\n

Cutting classes without permission or without an excuse is really serious and should be reported to clara\u00a0<\/u>immediately.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

B. ON ACQUIRING PUBLIC SERVICE UNION POINTS<\/u><\/p>\n

number of points constituing classroom warnings are:<\/p>\n

Preps \u201cA\u201d And \u201cB\u201d & Primary 1<\/u><\/p>\n

5 points = 1 classroom warning
\n2 classroom warnings = 1 floor warning<\/p>\n

Primaries 2, 3, & 4<\/u><\/p>\n

3 points = 1 classroom warning
\n2 classroom warning = 1 floor warning<\/p>\n

**ALL BEHAVIOR EARNING CLASSROOM P.S.U. POINTS SHOULD BE DEALT WITH IMMEDIATELY, HOWEVER,<\/p>\n

Preps \u201cA\u201d & \u201cB\u201d And Primary 1 & 2 <\/u><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. The child should immediately be made aware of what he\/she did wrong and isolated on knees (lenght [length] of time on knees depends on child and situation.)<\/li>\n
  2. For extreme problems, the child should also do one of the disciplines:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    clean one of the school pavilions
    \nempty trash containers in one of the school pavilions
    \ngo to Pat\u2019s discipline class<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

    Note:<\/u> be sure to send a note to Pat [Grunnet] telling her why the child is\u00a0sent there.<\/p>\n

    Primaries 3 & 4<\/u><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. The child should immediately made aware of what he\/she did wrong, and told why discipline is necessary.<\/li>\n
    2. The child will also stay in after school to receive one of these disciplines:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      help shower children in apt. One
      \nhelp fold baby diapers or fold clothes in apt. One
      \nhelp Leola [King] wash tables and benches in the dining room
      \nPavilion (no playing around)
      \nPick up paper around cottage taoilet<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

      C. CLASSROOM AND ASSEMBLY BEHAVIOR CONSTITUTING P.S.U. POINTS<\/u><\/p>\n

        \n
      1. Showing disrespect to teachers and peers<\/li>\n
      2. Excessive talking<\/li>\n
      3. Playful hitting<\/li>\n
      4. Refusal to participate in class<\/li>\n
      5. Coming to class 5-10 minutes after class starts<\/li>\n
      6. Light playful teasing<\/li>\n
      7. Name calling<\/li>\n
      8. Extreme or excessive cursing<\/li>\n
      9. Running around the classroom or pavilion.<\/li>\n
      10. Refusal to be seated or stay seated on bench in class or assembly<\/li>\n
      11. Eating in class or school assembly<\/li>\n
      12. Returning late from breaks<\/li>\n
      13. Refusing to help with clean up<\/li>\n
      14. Mishandling books and other school property. (this includes books, teachers should make sure that students are given instructions before enforcing this ?<\/li>\n
      15. Refusing to do classroom discipline<\/li>\n
      16. Refusing to come to teachers\u2019 conference<\/li>\n
      17. Negativism complaining constantly, whining, refusal to compromise<\/li>\n
