  1. I think I am still more image-conscious than what is appropriate for a socialist. I am too often hesitant to take the bad-guy position.<\/li>\n
  2. I indulge myself with paranoia when I think I am being circumvented. The last time I was in G-town, I think there was a hesitation to voice opinions to me, and instead a means of cautious approach which gave vent to my paranoia. What I should have done was to deal directly with the situation myself.<\/li>\n
  3. I tend not to follow simple structures \u2013 such as chores. This is an eliteist pattern that I will work on.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Concerning the meetings you instructed us to hold. We have not had another one. Jean Brown thought it was very constructive. But Alice did not attend and Sandy had another appointment. However Sandy was very much in opposition to your position and said that in any case she would not attend. I was very disapointed. There has been a basic mistrust of Sandy on the part of Alice & Leona concerning the way (they say) she colors her reporting.<\/p>\n

      I didn\u2019t know Robin was leaving until this morn. So I don\u2019t have time to write a full report. There has been no one else going before now I would have trusted to take it. But due to the reactions on the part of the two I mentioned. I almost wished I had not promised you any report. I just didn\u2019t want to deal with the results that might follow.<\/p>\n

I couldn\u2019t believe how much Kevin had grown and how much weight a lot of people have lost. Becky Beckman is really amazing and Liz and Poncho. I\u2019ve only been<\/p>\n

      I feel that it has been an honor and a privilege to be a socialist and work for a socialist cause. Socialism is worth fighting for. It is the only just society. People cannot and must not be allowed to live in a class society and a few people owning the wealth of the world while others fight and struggle for minimal existence. While still others are dieing every minute from starvation, from lack of proper medical care while children are being born every minute deformed and retarded from lack of proper maternal nutrition. A socialist society is the only means by which these autrocities & insanities can be stopped. Even though the battle for change seems so useless and never ending I feel it is worth it and pledge to do whatever may be necessary, even if it means taking my own childs life, to see that the battle for socialism is won.<\/p>\n

      \u00a0I thought before Norman [Ijames] gets here I\u2019d better find out if you have any instructions regarding how much I can or cannot say to Norman about his \u201cactivities.\u201d I was just going to tell him how I felt about it but in view of the fact that he\u2019ll be coming and going I don\u2019t know if I should. To be honest I don\u2019t feel like killing him or beating him up or anything. I have missed him and will be glad to see him. But I\u2019m hurt and angry with him that he could do this sort of thing when we\u2019ve been fighting for our existance here. It would be different and maybe more understandable if he hadn\u2019t known what was going on here but he did know. Maybe I\u2019m too trusting or too naive but<\/p>\n

I just don\u2019t want to let this pass and let him think he\u2019s got something over. Thanks to you I\u2019m not that passive anymore. But I will do whatever you think best. I certainly don\u2019t want to cause you anymore trouble. While I\u2019m writing let me say that being in Jonestown and going thru the crisis has really made me appreciate you and your love for us. I think growing up in this cause I\u2019ve taken it for granted and never really appreciated it and you as I should.       The following background may prove helpful:<\/p>\n

      Leona\u2019s [Collier] description of Nelma the sister that is coming to visit. She is selfish, vicious, cared about no one and has no conscious [conscience]. She stated that she caused the death of her first child that Leona was taking care of. (I don\u2019t remember the details.<\/p>\n

      She caused the family the worst scandal by lying saying the man Leona was working for at the time was the father of the child. Lied to them (the family) and everybody else. The story made the Jet Magazine as I recall. The man was white and rich.<\/p>\n

      Never took care of Valerie. Valerie was very ill about a year ago. Leona called her. She told Leona that Val is grown, now she have to take care of herself.<\/p>\n

      And one time Leona<\/p>\n

      went to the DA office to keep her away from the house because of a dress, the sister threatened to kill Leona.<\/p>\n

      Leona is very close and protective of her family. I think they all are of each other except for this one sister.<\/p>\n

      Leona predicted that if Valerie come here her sister would use the excuse to visit although she could care less about Val or PT. Leona didn\u2019t want Valerie to come before she was able to come and bring Africa because of this problem but statements were made in SF that Leona didn\u2019t let her relatives go to Jonestown. She also made the statement that Valerie was selfish and spoiled and would not think of the family first.<\/p>\n

      I once said to Leona that maybe her sister would change. She said after all she has done and never said she was sorry to any of us she<\/p>\n

      Leona said if anything ever happened here and I was here and she was in the states to tell you (Jim) that she would not take the blame for Valerie or what she caused but she said I make this promise, if Nelma cause Jim into trouble, I\u2019ll bury her and the family would have to live with it.<\/p>\n

      I have met her sister a few times. Rennie, John Harris also. Maybe others have also. I think we need to be very aware. She\u2019s the type that will question things, [illegible word] sweet phony type. Can be likeable if she wants to be.<\/p>\n

      I would have written this before now but I just got Leona\u2019s letter last night. The letter sounded as if Leona hasn\u2019t changed very much.<\/p>\n

      I think Georgetown should be friendly, and very, very<\/p>\n

      Shirley, I don\u2019t hear very much from you and Becky why don\u2019t you write. I know when you and Maude visit Rennee all you do is gossip. J.J. told us how well Bob Kice was doing and about some of the marriages over there. It was good to hear his voice.<\/p>\n

      Things here are a mess as usual. Chris (Teddy) [Lewis] ended up with 2 wives. The system is still trying to rob us at the same time wear us down. We marched twice. Clevyee [Sneed] can tell you<\/p>\n

But he says all he has going is hostility. There isn\u2019t very much going on here. I hear D Parks will be joining you guys soon. You know he had a long vacation.<\/p>\n

I would hate to think they are classing me as a Constance Harris (Just using someone\u2019s name etc) I never have given any one the impression there was an romance connected with it. Never. I don\u2019t understand Alice spreading news or adding to it. Why would Doxsee be pissed without finding out why. I don\u2019t care who Mac relates to, that\u2019s his problem. I would only hate for him to loose his way (from this cause) Hope this can be explained somehow.<\/p>\n

      Father we opened the service with song and gratitudes. Father then you told us about the racism in the States and how their putting up signs saying everyone should own a nigger. You also said that Chicago, Illinois, Indiana would be some of the worst riot break outs. And along with that sign they should fat black people. You also mentioned that some of us wish we were at home back in the states but we don\u2019t know whats going on. Then the two brothers asked to get off their hard hats and you test them they passed it. Father they didn\u2019t really pass it but you were loving enough to ask them questions about the service incase of lack of education taught which that was the capital teachers fault. Then we talk about ideas for the new facilities for the family [faded word] and we had a short meeting afterward. [faded word] did mention something about [faded word]<\/p>\n

      The reason I wasn\u2019t in agriculture meeting is because I worked until 11:00 that night in dorm 1 with the teaching crew but I have attended all the other meetings but 2. But when ever I\u2019m not working till 11:00 I will be there.<\/p>\n

      Dad my feelings about mas suiside. Dad to me mas suiside is a waste because it seems like such a waste of children and seniors. But I think it would be better to kill them than to see the facist take them alive. I think that we should try to use the seniors and children in the revolution. I am trying think of ways to use them before they go.<\/p>\n

      Maybe the can start everything a fire and make sure we don\u2019t leave the fascist any food or good useful properties.<\/p>\n

      \u00a0My way to get Tim Stone is two dress as an aunt Jane buisness lady at any buisness place. Call Tim Stone in acting as a secratary tell him to [go] there then call him in to the deserted office and slit vein in the neck with a piece of bauxite.<\/p>\n

      An idea: Since we are short on amunition. I was thinking of getting a sharp peice of bauxite and we couldn\u2019t even have buy any just use the scraps that we have laying around here. It is sharp enough to cut a finger and give stiches so it should be sharp enough to cut a throat.<\/p>\n
