{"id":13112,"date":"2013-02-17T21:49:34","date_gmt":"2013-02-17T21:49:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alternativejonestown.com\/?page_id=13112"},"modified":"2018-02-21T13:22:03","modified_gmt":"2018-02-21T21:22:03","slug":"annieslastletter","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jonestown.sdsu.edu\/?page_id=13112","title":{"rendered":"Annie Moore\u2019s Letter of October 25, 1978"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>On October 25, 1978, Annie Moore wrote a letter to her parents, John and Barbara Moore in Reno, Nevada, and asked them to forward an enclosed <a href=\"http:\/\/jonestown.sdsu.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/04-36-AnnieLetter.pdf\">letter<\/a> to her sister Rebecca Moore living in Washington, D.C. It arrived at its destination in mid-November, a few days before the deaths on November 18.<\/p>\n<p>On one level, the letter is typical of much of the correspondence emerging from Jonestown in its final months \u2013\u00a0 the children are happy, Annie writes, the jungle is beautiful, her work as a nurse is both consuming and fulfilling \u2013 but it adds news about the conspiracy against them which the Jonestown leadership didn\u2019t trust many of its residents to write about.
