In addition to recording many of the nighttime meetings in Jonestown, several of which are located here<\/a>, secretaries transcribed minutes of a number of Peoples Rallies. Several of the notes appear below.<\/p>\n

The notes differ from the tape transcripts in a few respects. First, they identify people by name \u2013 those who offer opinions, those who sing songs, those who make presentations. Secondly, they summarize various decisions in a shorthand format, such as listing people who are going on and off Learning Crew, including the length of time they spent on it.<\/p>\n

But the notes also show various perspectives of the writers who assemble the notes, the perspectives they have on life in Jonestown as revealed during the Peoples Rallies.<\/p>\n

Their other value, of course, is in helping to establish dates to the free-flowing, non-contextual tapes that often start and stop in mid-sentence, with even less regard towards beginnings and endings of meetings.<\/p>\n
