\"\"<\/a>Yulanda Williams became a member of Peoples Temple at age 12 in 1969 and moved to Guyana in 1976. She left Jonestown in the fall of 1977 with her husband, Ron Crawford.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Ms. Williams is the daughter of Rev. Harry W. Williams, Sr., who was a minister at St. Mark Institutional Missionary Baptist Church in San Francisco, and of Rose Mary Williams. She was a member of the San Francisco Police Department for more than 30 years, and was the president of the Officers for Justice in SF.<\/p>\n

Ms. Williams has appeared in several documentaries and granted numerous interviews about her experiences in the Temple, including three interviews in 2024 with Time<\/a> magazine, Psychology Today<\/a> and The Guardian<\/a>. She also appeared in a panel discussion of Jonestown at the Museum of the African Diaspora in 2017.<\/p>\n
