{"id":18846,"date":"2013-05-26T16:00:30","date_gmt":"2013-05-26T23:00:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alternativejonestown.com\/?page_id=18846"},"modified":"2013-05-26T16:01:47","modified_gmt":"2013-05-26T23:01:47","slug":"two-poems","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/jonestown.sdsu.edu\/?page_id=18846","title":{"rendered":"Two Poems"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><center>\u201cJim\u201d<br \/>\nBy Jimmy Cordell<\/center><\/p>\n<p>As the twilights dim, I see him,<br \/>\nhis name is Jim<br \/>\n<span class=\"tabbed\">He has looked and he has found,<\/span><br \/>\nit&#8217;s so great to step on our communist ground.<\/p>\n<p>He&#8217;s brought us here to build this land,<br \/>\nworking together with cutlass in hand.<\/p>\n<p>Working, striving day by day,<br \/>\nhe is blessing us in every way.<\/p>\n<p>Our land is beautiful, from beans to the banana,<br \/>\nat last we have made it to a land called Guyana.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><center>\u201cOur Home To Stay\u201d<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Where we live and work today<br \/>\nVines and huge trees were in the way<br \/>\nNow on this fertile land<br \/>\nOur home and farmland stand<br \/>\nAgainst the trees and soil we fought a battle<br \/>\nAnd now we produce poultry, pigs and cattle<br \/>\nHard work both by day and night<br \/>\nIs our way to make production bright.<br \/>\nThrough the sun and rain we work fearlessly<br \/>\nTo occupy the fertile land productively.<\/p>\n<p>There is so much that can be done<br \/>\nWe find no time to idle around<br \/>\nWe do provide time for play and fun<br \/>\nCause these are things that should be done<br \/>\nHowever we will never forget<br \/>\nThere are still room for improvement yet<br \/>\nWith [three illegible words] the days go by<br \/>\nWe\u2019ll achieve the goals before our eye<br \/>\nOur home would be a great community<br \/>\nCause we work co-operatively in unity<br \/>\nAnd without the taughts [thoughts?] of going away<br \/>\nThis happy place will be our home to stay.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\" align=\"right\"> By Christopher Campbell<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cJim\u201d By Jimmy Cordell As the twilights dim, I see him, his name is Jim He has looked and he has found, it&#8217;s so great to step on our communist ground.
