Bob:<\/strong> Hey, (unintelligible\u00a0 name)<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>Yeah.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Hey, is Mom there?<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>Hi, Bob.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Hey, how are you?<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>Fine.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Good.<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>Yeah, let me get her. (away from mouthpiece) Mom? Bob is on the phone. (Back to phone) Okay. Here, let me give the phone to her.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> How you doing?<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>All right.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Good.<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>I didn\u2019t\u00ad\u2013 you know, I was\u2013<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> What?<\/p>\n

Brother: <\/strong>\u2013like I was dreaming at first, you know (unintelligible). Here she is.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Hi.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Hi, mom, how are you?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> I got pneumonia.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, do you?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. (unintelligible, sounds like \u201cHe sounds close\u201d)<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, yeah?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. Oh.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, it\u2019s good to hear you.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> It\u2019s good to hear you. Oh.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Uh, I thought I\u2019d write, uh, I know I haven\u2019t\u2013 I mean, I thought I\u2019d call \u2018cause I haven\u2019t written in so long. Uh. Yeah. How you doing?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Well, I\u2019d be all right, if I get well. I tell ya, I\u2019ve had it for two weeks. (Coughs)<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Mm-hmm. Yeah, Mom? (unintelligible under cough) Yesterday, I got this letter. It was, yeah, kind of disturbed me a little bit, you were talking about uh, the church we used to go to\u2013 uh\u2013<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> (unintelligible).<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> You know, you were saying all those bad things. Gosh.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, that\u2019s why\u2013 you wouldn\u2019t (unintelligible). You know?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> But\u2013 Yeah\u2013 I mean, uh, the last I<\/em> heard they were, you know, how much they talking so nice about you. You know, that you didn\u2019t get involved in all the bad things that were going on.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Right, no way. We don\u2019t\u2013 uh, we don\u2019t say a word to nobody, you know. (Coughs)<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Uh, especially, you know, Linda too, uh\u2013<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Huh?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Linda too, you know. I mean. Why should you say those things, I don\u2019t\u2013 I don\u2019t know.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> No. (unintelligible word) No.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Uh. Well, I\u2013<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> (unintelligible), you know.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Yeah, well, I\u2019ll tell you, uh, uh, I know they\u2019ve al\u2013 you know, as far\u2013 you know, they\u2019ve always tried to help people. But uh, right now, I (unintelligible word)\u2013 I\u2019m on the ship. It\u2019s se\u2013 about seven o\u2019clock here.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Uh-huh. [Yes}<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> And uh, I won\u2019t be able to write for a while because we\u2019re going in and out every single day, for uh, demolition (unintelligible word). It\u2019s pretty special to see (unintelligible word), so, it\u2019s pretty secret, so I gotta\u2013 you know, I can\u2019t talk to you much about it. Uh, yeah, I\u2019ll write as often as I can.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Okay. Yeah, do that.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> And you know, I\u2019ll call, too.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Okay, we don\u2019t even have a car.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Huh?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> You don\u2019t have a car.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Uh\u2013 No, I can\u2019t drive, I mean. It\u2019s setting in the driveway, I can\u2019t even start it up.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Well, I guess you\u2019ll have to make do for now.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> And as far as that check goes, Mom, I won\u2019t be able to write, uh, you sent me like a week ago?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> I\u2019m sorry, I can\u2019t uh\u2013 I can\u2019t do it. Can\u2019t write yet.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Can\u2019t write?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> I\u2013 I know you don\u2019t understand. Uh-huh. We\u2013 We can\u2019t send out any letters for\u2013 You know, they gotta be brief and limited when we do.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, but I mean\u2013 Will you be able to go?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> I don\u2019t know. I don\u2019t think so. Not\u2013 It doesn\u2019t look like it right now.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> You\u2019re kidding.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> No. But\u2013 I can tear it up.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Huh?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> I can tear it up anyway. But what\u2013 what was it for? (Pause) Tha\u2013 That check.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> I wanted you to cash it and then write me a money order and send it back.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Why? Why? I didn\u2019t understand why.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> I told you why in the letter. (unintelligible whisper) welfare.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, oh. I didn\u2019t understand. Okay.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, what they do, is cut off my income.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> And I told them\u2013<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Yeah.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> (unintelligible) And I told them that uh, I had to pay you back when I got my income tax\u2013<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay. Yeah.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. So it\u2013\u00a0they can\u2019t\u2013\u00a0so when I said finally send \u2018em in today, had to be in by today, okay, I had to send them in today, I had to write the check number down that I sent you, so what they\u2019re going to do, they\u2019re going to check with the bank to make sure that check got cashed, you know, before next month, or whatever\u2013 you know.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Uh-huh.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> So. And then they won\u2019t cut off my income. Otherwise, they\u2019ll cut off my income. See, then they won\u2019t know anything about the money order.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, I see.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> It\u2019s kinda not fair, but yet, they make a liar out of you.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Yeah, okay. Well, how\u2019s everybody else?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Oh, pretty good, yeah. Chris called last night.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Did she?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> I mean, Monday night. Yeah.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, that\u2019s good, that\u2019s real good.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. Uh\u2013 Mike wrote you a letter (coughs). I (unintelligible) start writing, wouldn\u2019t get to finish it, and uh\u2013 So (unintelligible). You\u2019ll still get our letters there, won\u2019t you?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Uh, yeah, I\u2019ll still get your letters.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> But you won\u2019t be able to write about anything.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> No.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> O\u2013<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> But, Mom, (unintelligible word) will you do me a favor, though? Uh, you know, when you\u2013\u00a0when you write, please don\u2019t say (unintelligible word) things like that about us.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> I have to tell you\u2013 I have to tell you\u2013 (unintelligible under son)<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Yeah, but my opinion is\u2013\u00a0is different.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> I know<\/em> it is. I\u2013 But I\u2013 You know something, we live here. We know\u2013<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> You know, and I\u2013 I\u2019ve known too many people that (unintelligible word under mother)\u2013<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> \u2013that we know too many things, and\u2013\u00a0and\u2013 You know what I mean.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Right.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Uh, we don\u2019t want to know anything. You know what I mean? We rather not (unintelligible), don\u2019t bother us, you know, we don\u2019t want to know one way or the other.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay, yeah, well, just so long as you don\u2019t\u2013 you don\u2019t spread those bad things.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Are you kidding? We don\u2019t say anything to nobody.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> That\u2019s good.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> They try to talk to us, forget it. We don\u2019t know a thing.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> That\u2019s good, because you know, uh, I agree with it\u2013 that you know, Linda said that they\u2013 they had tried to help her, but\u2013 Well, look, I\u2013 I gotta go. There\u2019s not much time left. Uh, I gotta go eat, but anyway, I tell you, uh, thanks a lot for your\u2013\u00a0for your letters. I really appreciate them.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. (unintelligible word) take some pictures and send to me.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, I sure will.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. I\u2019ve got\u2013 I\u2019ve got all the pictures you sent me, I have all together in my albums, see. So keep sending me pictures every now and then, because I\u2013 I\u2013 (unintelligible) last pages, I have a bunch of them, and I put \u2018em in those. (Coughs) And you got a lot of pages in my album. They\u2019re really neat, so I wish you\u2019d send me some.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay. I s\u2013 Uh\u2013 uh\u2013 I\u2019ll see if I can get a camera.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah. See if you (unintelligible). Did you\u2013 Did you uh, go to Philadelphia?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Yes, Momma, I was there just last Sunday.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, that\u2019s where you mailed those two letters from\u2013<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Yeah, you got \u2018em?<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, I got both of them on the same day. I get your letters in two days. You know, you postmark \u2018em and\u2013 or you mail \u2018em and I get \u2018em in two days.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Oh, well, that\u2013 that\u2019s good.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, you don\u2019t even send them air mail. Me, I have to send mine air mail, and it still takes about a week probably.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Well, I\u2019ll\u2013 I\u2019ll tell you, uh\u2013 (unintelligible word) I better be going, but you know, those things that\u2013 that\u2013\u00a0it\u2019s\u2013\u00a0it\u2019s just slanderous, and I wouldn\u2019t want to see anything happen. Uh\u2013 Uh, I love you and uh, I miss you guys all so much. I\u2013\u00a0I\u2019ll call again real soon.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> (unintelligible word) I love you and miss you.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Wish me luck getting well. (unintelligible under son)<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> (unintelligible word) I\u2013 I hope you gettin\u2019 well soon.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Yeah, yesterday I went to the hospital and had x-rays and everything. And uh\u2013 it\u2013 Anyway. All right.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Uh-huh. Okay.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Take care, and we love you and miss you a lot (unintelligible word), okay?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Okay, and appreciate what you (unintelligible) cash that check, and you got money order to send me, okay?<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> You cash it, I mean.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Okay. Take care, Mom. I love you.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> Bob. I love you.<\/p>\n

Bob:<\/strong> Be well.<\/p>\n

Mother:<\/strong> (unintelligible word under Bob) Bye-bye.<\/p>\n
