(The Peoples Rally in Jonestown, which takes up almost the entirety of the tape, includes scores of calls and cries from unidentified members of the audience in the pavilion, many of them at the same time. Tom Grubbs<\/b>: If you will<\/i>, and you say, look, goddamnit, I\u2019m gonna\u2013 I will<\/i> trust you people. It\u2019s going to be hard, because I haven\u2019t done it in the past, but I will<\/i> trust, I will<\/i> be straight, I will<\/i> request help, and I\u2019ll be honest about my hostilities, and I\u2019ll deal with my hostilities in safe situations and responsible ways, and we say, \u201cFine, hey, we got no damn trouble with you now at all.\u201d (Pause) But I\u2019m concerned about your hostility level, \u2018cause I think you\u2019re still (Emphasize three words) hostile as hell. As long as you\u2019re hostile as hell<\/i>, and haven\u2019t come to grips<\/i> with this, and found a better way to channel it, I don\u2019t think you\u2019re safe outside that box.<\/p>\n

Barbara Walker:<\/b> (muffled, almost unintelligible) I\u2019m not hostile.<\/p>\n

Grubbs: <\/b>Uh, well, I\u2019m sorry, I\u2013 I have seen hostility, uh, a whole hell of a lot of hostility, and you have masked<\/i> it quite well. I mean you mask it, you cover it up, you try to come off as the passive, quiet, almost meek child. But sister, it\u2019s there<\/i>, a lot of it, and I\u2019m not<\/i> deceived by it. In fact, the only way I\u2019m gonna be convinced at all that this\u2013 that this thing is dealt<\/i> with, is that you can come out with it, and deal with it, discuss it, describe it, show what triggers it off, and come up with some responsible alternatives as a way of handling it. Because I wouldn\u2019t consider this therapy at all successful, unless we\u2019re able to do that. Masking<\/i> it does not deceive me at all. (Pause) I\u2019ll let you think on it. Jones: <\/b>Piggery. The class at the Piggery seems well taught, but some of the students don\u2019t bother to write the reports and don\u2019t seem to, uh, care. Janet Lenin [aka Janet Tupper], Marice Anderson, Kim Fye: no reports made and no excuse given. Also, Sandy, did the\u2013 all the security give me the report that they were supposed to?<\/p>\n

Tom Grubbs:<\/b> She came up as hostile tonight, until I reminded her it could be\u2013 you know, that the program was success, and it could be a (stretches word) long time, and she changed very quickly. She did<\/i> throw her food up against the inside of the\u2013<\/p>\n

Jones:<\/b> What\u2019s that?<\/p>\n

Grubbs:<\/b> I said that she was ho\u2013 quite hostile tonight and she threw\u2013 took her food and she threw it up on the inside of the walls. And uh, I responded by saying that uh, the program was to be a success<\/i>, and she could be in there a very long time and (snaps fingers) she sobered up very quickly.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>When will the truck be brought out from Georgetown? That truck\u2019s not to be brought out from Georgetown, it was supposed to be making money. Why aren\u2019t they doing<\/i> something with him?<\/p>\n

Male: <\/b>The dump truck was to be brought to town. The other one was to be brought out and that\u2019s not the dump truck.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>The dump truck was to be brought here, right?<\/p>\n

Male: <\/b>That\u2013 That doesn\u2019t make sense\u2013<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>What\u2019s that?<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>The flatbed should be left in Georgetown. The dump truck should be here. Right?<\/p>\n

Charlie Touchette: <\/b>The dump truck\u2019s here and the dump truck is coming in Georgetown, just\u2013 just like all of our (Unintelligible word, sounds like \u201cDefenders\u201d) still got an eighteen-inch deep bed. It can be a dump, or<\/i> it can\u2013 can haul freight in it, either one. It makes more sense to have a more personal truck in there, \u2018cause you got a dump here. Why have two<\/i> dumps here?<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>What is he talking about now? I\u2013 I\u2019m not\u2013 I\u2019m not the best coordination here.<\/p>\n

Male: <\/b>He says, he says\u2013 They were gonna leave the flat\u2013 the flatbed in town and bring the dump truck out. Charles [Touchette] says we already have a dump truck, and it would be better to have a dump truck in town, because it\u2019s more versatile and you can make money loading, hauling dirt, or at the same time loading cargo.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Well, can\u2019t they\u2013 in the meantime \u2018til that one comes here, \u2018til then, then we can bring the flatbed out here, can\u2019t we in the meantime use uh\u2013 What about that young man? Could he not get\u2013 get licensed so he could do something, so he could make some money with that damn truck?<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>Well, the only thing is his age<\/i> might be for insurance, Dad, that\u2019s the only thing.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Well we\u2013 I want someone to get this thing. There\u2019s somebody<\/i> in there can do something with it.<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>All right.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>We got to bring Bruce<\/i> back. It\u2013 No\u2013 no use to think about him<\/i>. Who else is in there?<\/p>\n

Female:<\/b> Ujara\u2019s (unintelligible)<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Ujara\u2019s there for the time being<\/i>. That wouldn\u2019t be a bad idea.<\/p>\n

Male:<\/b> Right, make\u2013<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Let\u2019s get Ujara [Don Sly].<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>(Unintelligible beginning) to the walk-in cooler should again be discussed in the public forum.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Walk-in f\u2013 cooler, we don\u2019t need a walk-in foo\u2013 koo\u2013 talk about it, we got one back there that should be brought<\/i>, shouldn\u2019t we? What does\u2013 What does he want us to talk\u2013<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>It says, (Unintelligible word), a walk-in freezer cooler should, uh, again be discussed in public forum.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Why?<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>Whoever wrote this up, say something please?<\/p>\n

Male: <\/b>Put \u2018em together now, it\u2019s been sitting up there useless.<\/p>\n

Female: <\/b>Mike Touchette was the one that addressed it in the analysts\u2019, he thought we should possibly consider, uh, getting our cooler together again, we had, uh, we\u2013<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Can you get it\u2013 can you put it together?<\/p>\n

Male Voice off mic: <\/b>Plywood, we need plywood for it.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Need what?<\/p>\n

Male Voices:<\/b> Plywood, we need plywood.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>What about some of the plywood we got. Is it all used?<\/p>\n

Male: <\/b>It\u2019s all used. The plywood that came in the last set of crates is all used. We\u2019ll have to wait until\u2013 to see what the\u2013 how much plywood comes in in the next set of crates.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>Well, it seems like a freezer\u2019s<\/i> in order, so that\u2013 they\u2013 they\u2019re going through the shipment today. Any more stuff on there?<\/p>\n

Brown: <\/b>Uh, no, that\u2019s it. (unintelligible word)<\/p>\n

Touchette: <\/b>To build\u2013 to build that walk-in cooler and freezer, it\u2019s gonna take a building to put it in, it\u2019s a big unit. Jack Beam was saying there\u2019s, there\u2019s one (unintelligible) down on the boat if we get the boat.<\/p>\n

Jones: <\/b>If we get the boat. What is\u2013 What is this about the\u2013 what\u2019s\u2013 what\u2019s wrong with this unit, we can\u2019t\u2013<\/p>\n
