                  The so-called “death tape” of Jonestown’s final hour includes Jim Jones urging the members of the Jonestown community to come forward to receive the poison — first for their children, then for themselves — as Jones describes the horrors of what would await those who don’t commit revolutionary suicide. There are two other complete versions of the transcript on this website: that of the FBI<\/a>, and that of Mary Maaga<\/a>. There are minor differences among these three transcripts. In addition, there are three excerpts of the tape: that provided by Mark Lane<\/a>; that provided by Jonathan Z. Smith<\/a>; and that provided by Steve Rose<\/a>.<\/p>\n
