Look-Alike Camouflage<\/strong><\/p>\n

In \u201cBefore:<\/em>\u00a0 Pre-Planning the Frame,\u201d <\/strong>we detailed the motives, means and opportunity for the CIA to duplicate vehicles from Jonestown to fool onlookers in a look-alike attack.<\/p>\n

The resulting look-alike tractor-trailer <\/strong>used in the attack was detailed in \u201cThe Vehicle Used in the Attack\u201d<\/strong> (both tractor and trailer).\u00a0 How the photos needed for the duplications were obtained has also been detailed, in \u201cBefore:<\/em>\u00a0 Pre-Planning the Frame.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

If not for the recovered on-site NBC film footage, no one could have ever proven the difference.\u00a0 But we have it and it does.\u00a0 Moreover, we now have highly credible\u00a0 conflicting <\/em><\/strong>accounts proving that there were TWO<\/em><\/strong> tractor-trailers on the airstrip — one the real Jonestown tractor-trailer, the other the duplicate used in the attack.\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThe Master Schematic:\u00a0 The Reiterman Schematic Versus the On-Site NBC Film Footage.\u201d<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Namely, the NBC footage places the real Jonestown tractor-trailer parked on the same side of the runway as the Guyana Airways plane, down-runway.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 In stark contrast, on-site Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter, Tim Reiterman, places the tractor-trailer used in the attack across the runway in a transverse approach.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Moreover, Reiterman drew up the schematic of the entire airfield a single day following the attack!\u00a0 In other words, Reiterman was sure that the attack vehicle came from across the runway.\u00a0 (Two other reporters on site made parallel sightings.)\u00a0 It just wasn\u2019t the tractor-trailer from Jonestown!<\/p>\n

The on-site NBC film footage and the on-site Reiterman account are zero-reconcilable<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Enough to have had any case against the accused assassins tossed out?\u00a0 Oh, there\u2019s a ton of proofs that could have done that.\u00a0\u00a0 This is just the shortest route!\u00a0 Exhibit A, Exhibit B, no case.<\/p>\n

And what of the need for \u201clook-alike assassins\u201d?<\/strong>\u00a0 Well, that was \u201ca partial.\u201c\u00a0 They might have had all of the assassins dressed as civilians (to look like \u201cPeoples Temple assassins\u201d), except that they couldn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

Yes, Assassins 2 & 3 (as marked in documents to come), the right- and left-flank assassins, respectively, were dressed as civilians, i.e., not<\/strong> in uniform, shirt one color, trousers another, casual dress.\u00a0 To make it plausible that the assassins were civilians.<\/p>\n

However, they could not (and did not) do that for the fiercely dominant lead assassin<\/strong>.\u00a0 Him they had to except because it was his job to kill the Congressman — to do it quickly, brutally, efficiently, before anyone could flee.\u00a0 Thus he needed the full advantage of head-to-toe green military camouflage to be disguised upon approach and to escape into the bush if needs be.\u00a0 Whatever happened, one killing or twenty, it was the lead assassin who had to succeed in killing the Congressman.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As we will see, he was so green head-to-toe that his disembark has to be picked out frame-by-frame from the bright green background bush.\u00a0 There is no way that the victims could have done that on the spot, which was the whole point.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the same film footage that recorded his camouflage also recorded a feature more damning — namely, his height!\u00a0 Using a lead assassin SO TALL <\/strong>while the assassin beside him was SO SHORT,<\/strong> indeed gave \u201ca universal exclusion.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 Jonestown had no one that tall period.<\/strong>\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThere Was No Bob Kice.\u201d\u00a0 Ruling out Tom Kice and Joe Wilson as well, covering all three accused by \u201cthe government eyewitness.\u201d)<\/p>\n

The Most Damning Mistake<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

The obvious move for the assassins would have been to confiscate the NBC camera, so that that trove of invaluable evidence would be lost.<\/p>\n

There was, however, a pressing time urgency in these hands-on killings.\u00a0 Do it quickly; preserve your camouflage; flee.\u00a0 And the killing of the NBC cameraman was exceptionally brutal.\u00a0 According to Ron Javers, the newsman standing beside him, the gunman blew Bob Brown\u2019s head off, splattering blood all over the camera as well.\u00a0 The gunman might well have thought that the camera was destroyed.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

But we should also hasten to add that even with what has resurfaced of the film footage, more is suppressed to this day.\u00a0 And should that yet resurface in its entirety, it will only make this case all the more iron-clad.<\/p>\n

Original, Uncut Footage Showed a Brutal Professional Hit; Shortened Version Still Shows \u201cEnough\u201d [1]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

News Coverage Confirms a Longer Film <\/strong><\/p>\n

The surviving on-site NBC film footage showing only the first 5-6 seconds of the airstrip massacre has never been the complete film.<\/p>\n

Ron Javers, the newsman who was standing next to NBC cameraman Bob Brown when he was fatally shot, said that \u201cBob Brown stayed on his feet and kept filming as the attackers advanced on him with their guns.\u00a0 He was incredibly tenacious.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

Highly professional<\/em><\/strong> gunmen at that.\u00a0 As printed at [1]<\/a>, the on-site reporters\u2019 descriptions were:\u00a0 \u201csilent,\u201d \u201ccalm,\u201d \u201cmethodical,\u201d \u201ccarefully planned and mercilessly executed.\u201d<\/p>\n

That\u2019s what I saw too in 1979 on t.v. at the first anniversary of the tragedy<\/strong>.\u00a0 A film that did not go to \u201csnow\u201d until a gunman came right at the cameraman\u2019s head.\u00a0 What led up to it was relatively \u201clong\u201d (best estimate about 20 seconds), but with the assassins moving at lightning speed.<\/p>\n

I was so freaked by this professional \u201chit,\u201d that I went to the Congressional committee in January, 1980, to demand that the film footage be blown up to discount Peoples Temple assassins at all.\u00a0 I was flatly refused and returned to New York to an avalanche of harassments, which I detailed in my book, \u201cSnake Dance:\u00a0 Unravelling the Mysteries of Jonestown.\u201d\u00a0 I persisted for another year, but it was futile with no public support and to boot, the primary evidence out of reach!<\/p>\n

The entire<\/em><\/strong> film, of course, has never<\/strong> been re-released.\u00a0 What has resurfaced by current date is just the first 5-6 seconds of the assassination:\u00a0 the disembarkation, and not even complete at that.\u00a0 Plus additional NBC raw footage sidelined as \u201cunremarkable\u201c that actually provides invaluable proofs.\u00a0 Plus the above-mentioned schematic of the crime scene by Tim Reiterman that fills in \u201cthe missing piece\u201d — hard confirmation that there had to be an additional tractor-trailer on the scene. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Is there all told, enough to extrapolate the logistics of the attack and to reconstruct what happened?\u00a0 Oh, yes!\u00a0 Very much so!<\/p>\n

Understand, what has resurfaced is damning enough.\u00a0 But for the record, this is what the whole of<\/em><\/strong> the film revealed, and will again should it be recovered:<\/p>\n

This Is What Was Visible With the Entire Film<\/strong><\/p>\n

When I saw the entirety of the assassination film footage on t.v at the first anniversary in 1979, I remember a symmetrical fanning out upon the gunmen\u2019s advance; then one imposing form (like really TALL!) standing over a body (the Congressman\u2019s?) and either shooting him in the head or jamming his body with a rifle butt; and the camera going to \u201csnow\u201d only when that gunman charged at cameraman Bob Brown\u2019s face head-on.<\/p>\n

Although it was horrifying to see \u201ca snuff film\u201d right on t.v., I had the time to look at the complete forward charge, not just the first 5-6 seconds<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There were two other people with me as well, as detailed in [1]<\/a>.\u00a0 One was Chris Kice (current whereabouts unknown), widow of accused assassin, Tom Kice, who peered at the screen with, \u201cI don\u2019t see Tom.\u00a0 None of those men are Tom.\u201d<\/p>\n

The point being that she had time to look<\/strong>.\u00a0 This was her husband.\u00a0 She knew his form, she knew how he moved.\u00a0 There was enough time to scan the killers to know that at least it was not him.<\/p>\n

Other survivors could not have ruled the accused assassins in or out?\u00a0 Of course they could have!\u00a0 The Congressional committee aides slapped back my demand for review with, \u201cWhy would we do that?\u00a0 All of the principals are dead.\u201d\u00a0 But how would anyone know without LOOKING?<\/p>\n

And only Temple survivors, not the feds, would know who were Temple men at all.\u00a0 But the FBI never showed the assassination footage to the survivors at all. <\/strong><\/p>\n

The other person there as we viewed of the entire assassination was (the late) Al Morrison, a non-Temple Army veteran friend.\u00a0 His comment as the horror unfolded was, \u201cI know what that is.\u00a0 It\u2019s a squad diamond.\u00a0 You learn that in basic training.\u201d\u00a0 He had time to look at the completed formation<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

I only later learned that my non-military impression of symmetrical fanning out was in fact what my friend Al had identified as \u201ca squad diamond.\u201d<\/p>\n

Well, now we at least have the first 5-6 seconds.\u00a0 The diamond is not yet complete, no; yet that doesn\u2019t mean that it is not there.\u00a0 Not at all.<\/p>\n

Moreover, if anyone doubts that I saw the ENTIRE film years back, please consider that upon freeze-framing the film, the only formation the assassins could<\/em><\/strong> be folding into was a squad diamond:<\/p>\n

The Squad Diamond:\u00a0 Logistics Versus Execution<\/strong><\/p>\n

First note that the exact footwork for the squad diamond formation is tracked in successive freeze-frames on panels [3-1]<\/a>, [3-2]<\/a>, [3-3]<\/a>, [4-1]<\/a>, [4-2]<\/a> and [5]<\/a>.\u00a0 Those sections will document, freeze-frame by freeze-frame, how the attack was executed on the ground as recorded directly by NBC.<\/p>\n

What follows is the logistics<\/em><\/strong> of the needed military specs, prior to dissecting its execution<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 That way, the reader will be given an overview and know exactly what to look for in the freeze-framed documentation to come.<\/p>\n

These Soldiers Could Only Advance Into a Certain Formation [2]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

First, an attack formation is something like a magnet.\u00a0 Wherever you start, you end up charging towards the victims!\u00a0 Which is why upon examination, we can yes, say, \u201cIt was<\/em> a squad diamond!\u00a0 JUST LOOK!\u201d\u00a0 We will now deconstruct this step-by-step:<\/p>\n

This was a rapid, brute-force forward charge, killing the Congressman and others.\u00a0 So let\u2019s say we call that forward charge the final step;<\/em><\/strong> but we can trace the disembark, the beginning steps,<\/em><\/strong> in the surviving film footage.<\/p>\n

Well, filling in the intermediate steps <\/em><\/strong>with this scenario becomes self-evident.\u00a0 Because we know in what direction the assassins are heading and their trajectory is already set.<\/strong>\u00a0 We know that because the NBC cameraman picked up the plane\u2019s left wing overhead in his wide-angle shot.\u00a0 That plane wing and the passengers\u2019 boarding hatch were side-by-side, so we know where the Congressman was standing at the time of the attack.\u00a0 = trajectory set. <\/strong><\/p>\n

But we also can see (what will be) the assassins\u2019 positioning <\/em><\/strong>by the time of the forward charge.\u00a0 Because some gunmen (1 -3 as marked) are already in rapid forward motion and others are stationery (4-6 as marked)\u00a0 — not yet moving at all.\u00a0 So it takes no guesswork to know headed up the formation and who was the rear guard.\u00a0 Obviously, the advancing gunmen were not going to halt to let their stationery counterparts charge ahead of them!<\/p>\n

The stationery gunmen were just waiting for the lead gunmen to fall into formation in front of<\/em><\/strong> them — the direction in which the lead assassins are already headed, flush-opposite the victims.\u00a0 Then the rear guard would fold in at the back, then marking all six gunmen as flush-opposite the victims.<\/p>\n

Note that by the end of the surviving film footage (see<\/em> [4-1]<\/a> and [4-2]<\/a>), the advancing gunmen have already disembarked into a front-pointed triangle<\/em><\/strong> with the outlandishly tall lead assassin heading the charge.\u00a0 (For hands-on measurement of the outlandish height discrepancies amongst the assassins, see also,<\/em> \u201cThere Was No Bob Kice.\u201d)<\/p>\n

The remaining three gunmen, all still stationery by the end of the 5-6 second clip, are grouped into the two<\/strong>-closest still on the trailer (headed to positions 4 & 5, respectively) and one<\/strong> in front of the tractor (headed to position 6); so that a back-pointed triangle<\/em><\/strong> is equally clear, with the two-closest jumping over the rim directly in front of them, the one to our far left then folding in at the back (as laid out schematically in [5]<\/a>.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Look.\u00a0 The three gunmen at the back had no place else to go!\u00a0 This isn\u2019t rocket science.\u00a0 It\u2019s more like zip zip zip done.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What\u2019s a Squad Diamond, Why It Was the Optimal Choice, Why This is It [2]<\/a> [5]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s backtrack now to this standard military formation (albeit executed on a non-standard terrain) and how\/why it was the only<\/strong> way that these gunmen filmed IN PLAIN SIGHT <\/strong>could be deployed:<\/p>\n

First note in the schematic of the squad diamond, that the \u201cdiamond\u201d is comprised of two back-to-back triangles, one pointed front (positions 1, 2 and 3) and one pointed back (positions 4, 5 and 6).\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cHow Did the Assassins Disembark?\u201d[2]<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

As a preliminary, note that all the fictionalized depictions of this scene have been false:\u00a0 Yes, vigilantes (like the accused \u201ccult crazies\u201d) may attack in a mob.\u00a0 Enter all the now-provably wrong, inaccurate fictional depictions of this assassination to date:\u00a0 tumbling chaotically off the trailer, guns blazing; firing in a straight-across line; standing up in the trailer and wildly firing ahead.<\/p>\n

That might indeed have been how a vigilante mob of \u201ccult crazies\u201d would have acted!\u00a0 But trained soldiers like those filmed on site by NBC, no.\u00a0 Their moves feature symmetry, teamwork (even in total silence!), aerodynamic efficiency and command of the terrain.<\/p>\n

Enter the squad diamond.\u00a0 Any attack formation which features a forward-charge requires a center, a leader, and unobstructed gunmen free to fire ahead, along with protection of the perimeters.<\/p>\n

All criteria elegantly met.\u00a0 The front triangle of the SQUAD DIAMOND<\/strong> fires ahead; the back triangle guards the right, left and back perimeters, respectively, as laid out in the schematic at [2]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The lead assassin (marked \u201c1\u201d) is flanked by soldiers on his right and left, respectively, who follow his lead but also protect his flanks, following slightly behind, and are also free to fire ahead since the formation is spread out.\u00a0 The lead sets the formation\u2019s center and heads to the target — here the Congressman.\u00a0 Obviously.\u00a0 Whomever else they killed or wounded, the prime target was him<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The back triangle obviously cannot <\/em><\/strong>fire straight ahead (i.e., into the backs of the lead gunmen!) but are positioned to guard the perimeters — right, left and back, respectively.<\/p>\n

Also note that we will proceed from the gunmen\u2019s vantage point — their<\/em><\/strong> left and right.\u00a0 So when we say, for example, that the lead assassin moves to the right, we mean to his own right.\u00a0 Because that\u2019s how it had to be planned and executed.<\/p>\n

This attack formation also had a unique profile in that the planners did not have the luxury of \u201ca simple squad diamond,\u201d so to speak.\u00a0 They had to navigate the given terrain at that airstrip.<\/p>\n

Navigating a Non-Standard Terrain<\/strong><\/p>\n

A standard squad diamond would feature an open unobstructed terrain with gunmen both starting from, and moving into formation on the ground.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 It still takes practiced footwork.\u00a0 Amateurs don\u2019t just pull this off unrehearsed.<\/p>\n

But this was a more complex challenge.\u00a0 The gunmen\u2019s vehicle was already exposed, in open view prior to any disembark at all!\u00a0 Worse, their time margin on the disembark was zero<\/strong>, in that any need to hunt the Congressman down, as opposed to a quick clear open shot, could have jeopardized any perception of \u201cthe cult crazies,\u201d but rather pegged them as strangers!<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Moreover, they had to navigate around a long unwieldy vehicle, jumping down from an elevation onto the ground, having to plot angles from both ends of the tractor-trailer (do that one wrong and neither Assassins 2 nor 6 could see<\/strong> past the respective ends of the vehicle to where they were to fold in!); and all with a premium on rapidity, efficiency, silence, seamless coordination and perfect aim.<\/p>\n

No small feats!\u00a0 Indeed, it would have been impossible to perform as filmed without professional planning and practice.\u00a0 These were rapid movements at steep angles, perfectly executed, in perfectly-timed sequence and without a hair\u2019s breath of signals between the gunmen.<\/p>\n

They did not even have the option of a center-disembark into an instant symmetrical formation.\u00a0 For one thing, the back<\/em><\/strong> of<\/em><\/strong> a trailer is open; the center is not!\u00a0 And they had to keep that key feature in tact for the duplication.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll return to this; but obviously, leaping over the trailer rim in four groups of 1, 2, 2 and 1 respectively (as per the squad diamond), to boot with zero momentum, would not have even spelled out \u201cforward charge!\u201c\u00a0 Indeed, gunmen front and center but not up to speed, would have just allowed precious seconds for the victims to spot their attackers and flee!<\/p>\n

By the final freeze-frame, the front triangle is headed right-diagonal at perhaps a 45-degree angle, headed towards the area between the trailer (where two gunmen still sit within) and the victims.\u00a0 But the placement of those two stationery gunmen was hardly arbitrary to boot.\u00a0 To the contrary!\u00a0 It is the still-stationery position of those two that is exactly opposite the boarding hatch of the plane, i.e., in direct line of fire to the Congressman<\/strong>.\u00a0 They can leap straight-line over the trailer rim and be right in position.<\/p>\n

And how we are sure<\/strong> of that, is that NBC cameraman Bob Brown has filmed the overhead left wing of the aircraft in his wide-angle shot [2]<\/a>.\u00a0 It is positioned just to his own right, so he is standing by the passengers\u2019 boarding hatch (just to his left) where the prime victim, Congressman Leo Ryan was waiting to board.\u00a0 Brown and the Congressman were just feet apart.<\/p>\n

Easiest is to visualize a big \u201cT\u201d with a wide top spoke (lengthened on our left end) transversing the length of the trailer to our right, all the way across to the gunman in front of the tractor to our left; and the downwards spoke being the advance of the formation towards the victims.\u00a0 The point at which the two spokes intersect is the two stationery gunmen still in the trailer, with the three advancing gunmen on our right moving right-diagonal to center-point midway down the vertical spoke of the \u201cT\u201d [2]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Again, gunmen 1-3 are already in rapid motion as per the on-site film footage, so it is they<\/em><\/strong> who then charged directly towards the Congressman.\u00a0 Gunmen 4-6 are still stationery, awaiting their turn to fold in at the back.<\/p>\n

It is also notable (as we will track) that although the gunman in front of the tractor has danced to his right (as we will track), he is continually facing to his left in ongoing visual synch with the team.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

He will fold in as the rear guard, but he has more time<\/em><\/strong> than the others:\u00a0 Once the triangle of shooters on our far right advance and the two still-stationery gunman in the trailer then jump over the trailer rim, then<\/strong> he can cut to his left and fall into formation in the back.\u00a0 By then, gunmen 4-5 will have moved far enough forward to open up position 6.<\/p>\n

Squad diamond complete and forward charge continues.<\/p>\n

Protecting the Cover<\/strong><\/p>\n

There was another reason why although the diagrams of the squad diamond at [2]<\/a> and [5]<\/a>, respectively, just seem like a straight-forward \u201csix-pack,\u201d this<\/em><\/strong> operation required non-standard modifications.<\/p>\n

Namely, yes, if only the bush were exactly behind the staging area for the attack, they might have just emerged in formation for the kill without a vehicle at all.<\/p>\n

But they couldn\u2019t do that.\u00a0 Then they would have no \u201ccover\u201d — the \u201ccover\u201d being the fool-the-onlooker look-alike tractor-trailer.\u00a0 Nor a way to either quickly speed in or quickly speed off!<\/p>\n

They needed that cover; moreover, had no choice about the terrain.\u00a0 And a non-standard<\/strong> one it was: they had to disembark when already in plain sight; take extra seconds to disembark from off the trailer platform; negate the liability of a lengthy, cumbersome vehicle; and all with the imperatives of efficiency and speed.<\/p>\n

They had to kill and flee.\u00a0 Couldn\u2019t stick around.\u00a0 Couldn\u2019t chase the Congressman down.\u00a0 Couldn\u2019t talk, couldn\u2019t hesitate, couldn\u2019t trip, couldn\u2019t have gunmen 4 & 5 advance ahead of 1, 2 & 3.\u00a0 Had to pull off a fantastically coordinated hit in record time.<\/p>\n

Because, in addition to the kill, they had to maintain the camouflage of \u201cbeing Peoples Temple.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cThe cult crazies,\u201d not the CIA.\u00a0 They had to pull that off with a hands-on hit, to boot!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Anyone who thinks that these gunmen just went bang-bang has not looked at the step-by-step professionalism of this hit.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Thus when you see something that looks peculiar, like when the film is prematurely lopped off, the gunman in front is standing stationery — not moving, not charging forwards, rifle not even aimed at the victims!. . . .\u00a0 Well,\u00a0 then plot your way through the freeze frame as we will do here.\u00a0 Then it\u2018s not peculiar.\u00a0 It\u2019s just professional, rehearsed, coordinated, step by step by step.<\/p>\n

As was the disembark of the lead triangle of gunmen from the back of the trailer.\u00a0 Like why, if the lead assassin (position 1) was the one who killed the Congressman (and it\u2019s a no-brainer that he was), is he only crossing right-diagonal by the end of the 5-6 seconds clip instead of being positioned to just charge forward for the kill?<\/p>\n

Again, his disembark point, the back of the trailer, could not<\/strong> have parked directly opposite the victims because they could have been readily seen<\/strong> during their several-seconds\u2019 disembark, signaling the victims to scatter before the head-on attack!<\/p>\n

Nor again, could they have disembarked from the center of the trailer as there was no side opening to allow for that.\u00a0 And they could not just slice that frame open as \u201cthe Jonestown trailer\u201d that they had quasi-duplicated was not built that way.<\/p>\n

They couldn\u2019t do that anyway.\u00a0 A disembark over the high trailer rim onto a hard landing would have just created a momentum problem for them, also handing the victims precious seconds to scatter.\u00a0 A huge slower-downer.\u00a0 Not the way to go.<\/p>\n

Diversion Gives Extra Seconds to Move Into Position<\/strong><\/p>\n

Instead, a gunman (position 6-to-be) moved out in front of the tractor with a diversionary shot from<\/em><\/strong> the wrong direction, to<\/em><\/strong> the wrong direction, just up into the air, to distract attention from the disembark at the back.\u00a0 Notably, to allow for the lead assassin (position 1) to maneuver his way into a forward charge.<\/p>\n

This along with the other footwork will be freeze-framed in \u201cDURING:<\/em> Logistics and Execution: tracking the Footwork.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 (Panels 3:1-3 and 4:1-2 and 5.)\u00a0 But here are the logistics before examining the specific moves:<\/p>\n

Remember, the lead needs to jump down hard, regain his balance, swerve sharply to his right, adjust his rifle while in motion, then charge forward at maximum speed.\u00a0 He does that with amazing rapidity and skill; but still, he is given<\/em><\/strong> the several seconds to do so by the diversionary shot fired at the other end of that lengthy vehicle.<\/p>\n

Much like a pickpocket with an accomplice.\u00a0 The accomplice bumps the victim from one side to divert attention while the pickpocket reaches in from the other side.<\/p>\n

Oh, without perfect footwork and lightning speed, they would still be at risk for prematurely attracting attention (this was a wide-open terrain!), but just LOOK<\/strong> at their footwork as tracked by the successive freeze-frames to come — these guys were pros.<\/p>\n

Then all six gunmen converged at the \u201cT\u201d intersection marked off by the two gunman in the trailer, namely, in direct line of fire to the Congressman!\u00a0 So there is NO GUESSWORK<\/strong> here; it is NOT SPECULATIVE<\/strong>; it is CERTAIN<\/strong>.\u00a0 In what other direction would they have headed??<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Note again that NBC cameraman Bob Brown was not only standing right at the boarding area with prime victim, Congressman Leo Ryan, but the plane wing overhead is visible in his film!\u00a0 That says \u201cdirectly opposite\u201d in a single photo.<\/p>\n

It also verifies the astonishingly close proximity<\/strong> of the tractor-trailer from the would-be-departing plane, i.e. so much IN PLAIN SIGHT<\/strong> that fractions of seconds were critical in achieving the kill, making how they pulled this off all the more breathtakingly professional.<\/p>\n

Just please understand that all of the above had to be pre-planned<\/strong>.\u00a0 No one fumbled, no one delayed, they followed a pre-ordered sequence of disembarkation for maximum aerodynamic efficiency (as we will track).\u00a0 It was so pre-planned and practiced, that they did not even utter a syllable of speech or give a single signal.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ad hoc vigilantes?\u00a0 No way!!\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

This Required Pre-Planning<\/strong><\/p>\n

So what do we have?\u00a0 A highly professional pre-planned military hit is what!\u00a0 Both on the part of the planners and the assassins.<\/p>\n

The squad diamond that would usually be executed on a flat open terrain, instead having to weave its way through odd geometries like a long trailer bed only open in the back!\u00a0 Navigating leaps down and right angle curves and all in plain sight.\u00a0 To not have the wrong person passing in front or back upon disembark, controlling the pace and sweep of the curve-around, not tripping over steps, being indecisive or failing to move in sequence.<\/p>\n

You only have seconds.\u00a0 You could blow the whole thing.<\/p>\n

They also had to incorporate a diversion which by definition had to be pre-planned<\/strong>:\u00a0 the gunman in front of<\/strong> the tractor-trailer shooting from<\/em><\/strong> the wrong direction to<\/em><\/strong> the wrong direction, to divert any onlooker\u2019s attention as the assassins disembarked from the back!<\/strong><\/p>\n

By the time anyone might have looked to see where was the shot coming from (i.e., the wrong direction!), the assassins would have already disembarked and be charging towards forward center.\u00a0 Congressman right there, Congressman shot dead.<\/p>\n

Now I\u2019m not military, but one doesn\u2019t have to be.\u00a0 There was no more logistically and geometrically perfect way to disembark than the way they did, for a surprise attack but in plain sight!<\/strong><\/p>\n

They Even Selectively Placed Their Personnel<\/strong><\/p>\n

They even placed the most aggressive, intimidating, VERY tall assassin in the lead.\u00a0 A slow-down of the film\u2019s frames shows him bending, swerving, stomping in fierce, rapid motions.\u00a0 Knees jutting high, stomping down, bending low, rifle lifted high over his head to circle around like a major league pitcher\u2019s arm on a wind-up.<\/p>\n

He was also the only<\/em><\/strong> assassin decked in full green military camouflage from head to toe!\u00a0 So green<\/em><\/strong> that you have to pick him out frame-by-frame from the surrounding bright green bush, undoable on the spot.\u00a0 (Indeed, no eyewitness even reported SEEING anyone like him!)\u00a0 You can also a clear bulge around his waist:\u00a0 a supply pack or holster.<\/p>\n

Because<\/strong> it was his job to murder the Congressman.\u00a0 <\/strong>They didn\u2019t care who else they killed of course.\u00a0 But it was his job to murder the Congressman.\u00a0 The other five were his support team.\u00a0 The killer of the Congressman was him<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Another Logistic Necessity:\u00a0 Shoot Out the Tires of the Planes [1]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

They had other things to pre-plan too.\u00a0 Like shoot out the tires of the plane, as confirmed by the news reports reprinted on [1]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Two reasons for that:\u00a0 1)\u00a0 to be sure of trapping the Congressman on the ground for the kill rather than take ANY chance that he could be flown away; and 2) to be sure that no \u201cevidence\u201d (such as an injured person or even an assassin) could red-flag help back to the area.<\/p>\n

No help?\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t that be a bit sinister?\u00a0 Well, yes!\u00a0\u00a0 Extremely<\/em><\/strong> sinister — as well as accomplished!<\/p>\n

You see, this wasn\u2019t about preventing help for the airstrip survivors.\u00a0 It was about barring any rescue with the death process at Jonestown.<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 (We\u2019ll return to this.\u00a0 We will prove that motive in the section, \u201cDuring:<\/em>\u00a0 The Immediate Aftermath.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 A deliberate twenty-hour delay for a locale that could have been reached in a single hour — recorded right on the U.S. government\u2018s own log!)<\/p>\n

Military On Site Stands Down [1]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Nor, apparently, did the gunmen have to worry about soldiers on site shooting back at them<\/strong>.\u00a0 As per NBC newsman Bob Flick\u2019s account from on site, there were \u201csoldiers with M-16 rifles who refused to intervene\u201d as well as \u201cthree policemen showed up but were disarmed and took off.\u201d<\/p>\n

Indeed, we have the epitome of an exposed target with the diversionary gunman up front.\u00a0 Just standing there, right out in the open, holding his rifle high in the air.\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cDiversionary Gunman in Front of Tractor,\u201c [3-1]<\/a>, [3-2]<\/a> and [3-3]<\/a>.)<\/p>\n

Why would anyone even risk<\/em><\/strong> being a stationery, exposed target while his teammates were charging forward with guns?<\/p>\n

Well, but maybe it wasn\u2019t<\/strong> a risk.\u00a0 Maybe that risk was neutralized in advance.\u00a0 Say, were it me planning this hands-on hit, I\u2019d say that was a critical thing to do!\u00a0 To ensure in advance that anyone in a position to intervene would stand down<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Guyana Airways Pilot [6]<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

Now let\u2019s flip to the other side of the coin.\u00a0 Namely, the assassins did not just need to prevent military intervention with their hit.\u00a0 They also needed on-site help regarding where<\/em><\/strong> to shoot and when<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0 Remember, they started off the airfield, across the runway, approaching from the right side of the plane.\u00a0 The boarding area was on the left side.\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThe Master Schematic.\u201d<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

In other words, THEY HAD NO LINE OF VISION<\/strong>.\u00a0 They had to wind up face-to-face with the Congressman for the kill, but they had no line of vision on the approach.<\/p>\n

Thus they needed the Guyana Airways pilot to implement several military specs:\u00a0 First, to ensure that the prime victim, Congressman Ryan, would wind up in their direct line of fire; namely, at what angle the plane was parked<\/strong>.\u00a0 Second, spotting when the Congressman had stepped into the target zone <\/strong>at the boarding area.\u00a0 Third, signaling the attackers in<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Last, there would have to be a noise diversion<\/strong> to:\u00a0 a) to mask the sound of the approaching attackers for the element of surprise; b) to disorient the victims\u2019 listening in preparation for the \u201csound assault\u201d accompanying the physical assault; and c) nothing better to throw the victims\u2019 reflexes off guard than to have to react, communicate and\/or flee in the middle of a racket!<\/p>\n

The NOISE DIVERSION will be delegated to a separate section because that was not solely the job of the Guyana Airways pilot, but segued into sequence with the attackers.<\/p>\n

Enter the Guyana Airways pilot.<\/p>\n

PURPLE — the Guyana Airways pilot<\/em><\/strong> [6]<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

The pilot had three tasks:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0 Positioning the plane flush-opposite the planned staging area for the attack [6]<\/a><\/strong>;
\n2)\u00a0 Spotting the Congressman into target range [6]<\/a><\/strong>; and
\n3)\u00a0 Signaling the attackers in [8]<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Step Three had three sub-parts:<\/p>\n

Sub-Part One<\/strong>:\u00a0 Coordinate with (presumptive) CIA handler on site, who has visibly siphoned himself out of target range into safety!\u00a0 [7]<\/a><\/strong>
\nSub-Part Two<\/strong>:\u00a0 Confab recorded on film between Guyana Airways pilot and the handler (20 seconds, visual only).\u00a0 Likely included confab with attackers as well (by radio or walkie-talkie).\u00a0 Remember that the attackers had no line of vision to victims prior to the attack.\u00a0 They would need to know how the Congressman could be spotted (such as white hair, all-white shirt and trousers) as well as where he was standing, so as to make a quick and certain kill.\u00a0 The pilot also had to confirm that the attack was ready to proceed.\u00a0 [7]<\/a><\/strong>
\nSub-Part Three<\/strong>:\u00a0 The sound signal for the attackers to approach (namely, the engines whirring up and down — not<\/strong> revving up for take-off) is right on film — it accompanied the attackers\u2019 entry onto the airstrip!\u00a0 [8]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Note that once the attackers are there, vehicle parked, ready to disembark, there is a final sound — a loud ongoing clatter that accompanied the attack!\u00a0 It was logistically placed as to timing, effect, as well as sound-source-perception, as we will detail separately in \u201cThe Great Noise Diversion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Follow this closely.\u00a0 It\u2019s pretty straightforward, but with a few \u201ctwists\u201d:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0 Parking the Plane into Perfect Position for the Attack [6]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

The NBC film footage shows the plane landing.\u00a0 It is clear from the freeze frame that this was a dirt runway with no lanes and no hangars and no traffic control.\u00a0 There was a shack, that\u2019s all<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s be clear:\u00a0\u00a0 That plane could have been parked any<\/em><\/strong> which way!\u00a0 It had its boarding area roughly facing the small terminal shack.\u00a0 Fine and good.\u00a0 But that was hardly \u201ca given,\u201d such as a cab can only drive up front and in one direction for a pick-up in front of a hotel.<\/p>\n

In fact, we can trace track marks of the plane\u2019s tires curving around at least 180 degrees.\u00a0 It may have even curved around a full 360.\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThe Master Schematic.\u201d<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Note that since there were no lanes or other markers on the airstrip, there was nothing to automatically determine how to park the plane.\u00a0 In fact, its being parked with the boarding hatch facing the shack, whatever the logic of that choice, also faced the plane in the wrong direction for take-off!\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThe Master Schematic.\u201d<\/strong>)\u00a0 Which some pilots might have thought not logical at all!<\/p>\n

And what would have been the liability of the plane having been parked differently?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 Lots!:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0 Were the plane parked in the opposite direction, nose pointed up-runway ready for take-off, then the approaching attackers (transverse across the runway) <\/em><\/strong>would be in full view as they approached, alerting the victims to scatter.\u00a0 The same if the plane\u2019s nose was pointed cross-runway with the passenger\u2018s boarding hatch in full view of the attack trajectory.\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThe Master Schematic.\u201d<\/strong>)
\n2)\u00a0 Were the plane parked too far down the runway (i.e., like the smaller Cessna plane), it would have steepened the curve-around into attack position, a liability for a lightning-quick kill.
\n3)\u00a0 Were the plane\u2019s nose pointed facing the shack, it would require either an other-side disembark (forcing all the pre-practiced steps into an unpracticed mirror!) or require a three-quarter loop around the plane before parking to disembark.<\/p>\n

This could not be left to chance.<\/strong>\u00a0 Remember, both speed and camouflage were paramount.\u00a0 The attackers needed maximum speed as they barreled across the airfield; but then come to a full halt; then perform a complex disembark before they could even fire!\u00a0 If the victims had so much as seen them coming, they might not be waiting for the next move.\u00a0 More likely, they would be scrambling for cover!<\/p>\n

No one organizes a surprise attack with a pre-game show!<\/p>\n

Additional Liabilities of a Mis-Park<\/strong><\/p>\n

Even more:\u00a0 A tractor coming right at them with no visible driver?<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0 (See<\/em> \u201cThe Vehicle Used in the Attack:\u00a0 The Tractor.\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0 This vehicle was custom-designed to have no<\/strong> driver\u2019s inset, no<\/strong> elevated steering wheel, no<\/strong> driver sticking up into the air.)\u00a0 Thus had the plane been facing, rather than blocking the attack trajectory, it might well have spawned queries about \u201cWho really did this?\u201d in the aftermath.<\/p>\n

The diversionary maneuver by the front gunman (giving several seconds to divert away from<\/em><\/strong> the disembark from the back) would have been pointless as well.\u00a0 Once you announce with a fully-visible approach that \u201cWe\u2019re here to attack you!,\u201d then the victims are already looking.\u00a0 It is too late to divert attention.\u00a0 You\u2019ve already got<\/em><\/strong> their attention and in exactly the way that you do not<\/strong> want!<\/p>\n

Nor could they risk having the victims scatter prior to the gunfire.\u00a0 Perhaps having to hunt the Congressman down, requiring more time, more face-to-face contact, thus with eyewitnesses all the more likely to discount<\/em><\/strong> that the attackers were from Jonestown.<\/p>\n

They had to \u201cbe Peoples Temple,\u201d with minimum time or opportunity for anyone to doubt it.\u00a0 <\/strong>Their prime target was the Congressman, yes; but if they had to kill him that<\/em><\/strong> way, their cover could have readily been blown:<\/p>\n

If they had to hunt the Congressman down instead of having him \u201cdelivered\u201d by the pilot.\u00a0 If they had to pursue the Congressman onto the plane.\u00a0 If their team was cut off by intervening people or plane parts.\u00a0 If they had to speak<\/em><\/strong> (they were silent).\u00a0 Any of these could have betrayed that these were NOT<\/strong> Temple men.<\/p>\n

Or what if in some more circuitous hunt for Ryan than a straight-line kill, someone with a gun on their person stopped them?\u00a0 The military on site stood down, even when the victims pleaded for help.\u00a0 Temple men on site (in other words, the liability of other men with guns) might not have!<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 All that liability had the plane been so much parked in the wrong direction!\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 This had, \u201cYou have to involve the Guyana Airways pilot\u201d written all over it.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Meanwhile for verification, we know the plane\u2019s parked position with certainty because the NBC cameraman filmed several passengers walking from the smaller plane to the larger one.\u00a0 We also have film of passengers filing from the terminal shack directly to the plane\u2019s boarding area; that walk was short.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 That achieved the first needed spec and the Guyana Airways pilot did it perfectly.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Spotting the Congressman Into Target Range [6]<\/a>:\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

The Factors In Play<\/strong><\/p>\n

Remember, the tractor-trailer coming from off-stage had to move ahead \u201cblind.\u201c\u00a0 The assassins had no way to make an advance spotting of the Congressman.\u00a0 He was on the hidden side of the plane for them.\u00a0 The spotting had to have been done for<\/strong> them.<\/p>\n

What if they got there after<\/em><\/strong> the Congressman had boarded the plane?\u00a0 What if the Congressman had stepped away into the shack to use the restroom?\u00a0 What if a lot of things.<\/p>\n

How could the attackers know what they could not see<\/strong>?\u00a0 Moreover, since the attackers, still off-stage, had no line of vision to the staging area, they could not be signaled in visually.\u00a0 It turns out that the attackers were signaled in aurally,<\/strong> i.e., by sound, but that comes in a successive step.<\/p>\n

First the Congressman had to spotted by the only party who would then be in a position to signal the attackers in:\u00a0 the Guyana Airways pilot.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

O.k.\u00a0 The pilot was already in the cockpit.\u00a0 We know that because the plane\u2019s engines were already idling, as heard on the film.\u00a0 Now, a pilot in the cockpit usually has no line of vision to the boarding area, much less to who is still on the ground waiting to board.\u00a0 That\u2019s happening behind him, on the ground level beneath him, out of his sight.<\/p>\n

Right?\u00a0 Well, with this plane, no<\/strong>.\u00a0 Here there were two<\/strong> boarding hatches, as caught on film:\u00a0 the passengers\u2019 boarding hatch just behind the plane\u2019s left wing; and the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch, also on the left side of the plane but near the front.\u00a0 (See<\/em> [2]<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

In addition, this plane had not only a front window, but a side window.\u00a0 Well, one would expect that for peripheral vision, much as the driver of a car has both front vision and side vision.\u00a0 But it\u2019s being pointed out because we will be spotting the front window, the side window, and the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch in three separate, distinct adjacent areas, giving the pilot forward, side and back vision, respectively.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also easy to spot when the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch is open or closed.\u00a0 You see white straight across when it\u2019s closed; you see a big dark gap cutting down into the decorative yellow stripe across the plane, when it\u2019s open.\u00a0 The reader will see that highlighted in successive freeze-frames from the film at [6]<\/a>.<\/p>\n

A huge added plus is that this film was marked with a timer at the bottom, so we can be certain of its filming sequence.<\/p>\n

How The Spotting Is Tracked On the NBC Film Footage [6]<\/a> <\/strong><\/p>\n

What we can trace is that although the passengers\u2019 boarding hatch has been OPEN<\/strong> for some time prior to the Congressman entry onto the airstrip, the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch is CLOSED<\/strong>.\u00a0 We can see when the Congressman approaches the passengers\u2019 boarding area, that that front part of the plane is sealed — i.e., white straight across.<\/p>\n

But then, just after<\/em><\/strong> the Congressman has passed by the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch to the passenger\u2019s boarding area, suddenly the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch is opening!\u00a0 In fact, it then opens wide.\u00a0 We can even trace the pilot sticking his hand out of the hatch to shake the hand of (as we will detail) a suspicious party headed towards him; as he, too, the pilot, can look out at the Congressman.<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Thus the Guyana Airways pilot spotted the Congressman into target range for sure.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Also note that it is not the job of a pilot in the cockpit to check which passengers have or have not yet boarded. Someone would inform him that everyone was already boarded, including the Congressman, and then the plane could take off.<\/p>\n

Well, that would be the routine for a \u201cnormal\u201d flight, anyway.\u00a0 Certainly I\u2019ve never been on a commercial airliner myself when the plane\u2019s engine revs up for take-off before everyone had boarded the plane.\u00a0 And it wouldn\u2019t be the pilot checking to see who had or hadn\u2019t boarded.<\/p>\n

But here was first, the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch first closed and then wide open, but only<\/strong> so, a) after the Congressman has arrived on the airstrip; but b) before he has boarded.<\/p>\n

Putting It All Together [6]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Next will come the aural signal for the attackers to approach.\u00a0 But first, let\u2019s review the above as it is sequentially tracked on the NBC film footage:<\/p>\n

1)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Congressman Leo Ryan (<\/em><\/strong>BLUE<\/em><\/strong>) <\/em><\/strong>is the man dressed in all-white, carrying the right handle of a wooden chest.\u00a0 (The Congressman will be dead approximately one minute later — this was a time-marked film).
\nOn Ryan\u2019s left is an unidentified young man carrying the left handle of same wooden chest.\u00a0 Joining Ryan on his right is Richard Dwyer from the United States State Department <\/strong>(ORANGE<\/em><\/strong>), discovered (by others, not myself) post-tragedy to be a CIA plant in the State Department.\u00a0 (The Temple did not know at the time.)<\/strong>
\nFor now, let\u2019s just track the movements of the Guyana Airways pilot:
\n2)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ryan, Dwyer and the unidentified young man are now approaching the plane.\u00a0 We can see the front window and the side window on the pilot\u2019s side of the plane, but the white-straight-across area behind it marked a pilot\u2019s boarding hatch that is still CLOSED.<\/strong>
\n3)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Ryan, flanked by the young man and Dwyer, has now walked past the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch on his way to the passenger\u2019s hatch for boarding.
\n4)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 By now, the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch is clearly OPENING.<\/strong>
\n5)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Not only is the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch OPEN,<\/strong> but what looks like a dark cross-bar within the hatch exactly parallel to the top of the yellow stripe on the plane, is the Guyana Airways pilot\u2019s (black) hand reaching out!<\/strong>
\n6)\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 We know this because now the same hand has dropped to reach down for a handshake (down, up, down, up) with the man who has been walking towards him, Richard Dwyer of the State Department.<\/p>\n

Just a friendly last minute chat between the State Department escort and the pilot?\u00a0 That would seem unlikely given the strange \u201ccoincidence\u201d that somehow Mr. Dwyer has managed to peel himself away from EVERYONE<\/strong> in target range within 35 seconds prior to the attack!\u00a0 And with Bob Flick, the NBC producer on site later noting, \u201cThe gunmen made no attempt to kill the Guyanese fliers.\u00a0 They were only killing Americans.\u201d\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

But Richard Dwyer was \u201can American,\u201d wasn\u2019t he?\u00a0 Was it rather that maybe they were only killing targets, not collaborators?<\/strong><\/p>\n

We will return to complete part 3) of the pilot\u2019s tasks.\u00a0 But first let\u2019s dispense of one Richard Dwyer:<\/p>\n

Was There a CIA Handler On Site?<\/strong> [7]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Enter Richard Dwyer, reputed CIA Plant in the U.S. State Department.\u00a0 (He is marked in ORANGE,<\/em><\/strong> with his moves successively freeze-framed at [7]<\/a><\/strong>.)<\/p>\n

First, understand, no one ever nailed him as the CIA handler overseeing this op on site.\u00a0 Indeed, he claimed to have been shot himself!<\/p>\n

Well, not \u201cshot-shot,\u201d understand — not some \u201cshot\u201d that one can verify<\/em><\/strong>, such as in felled, or visible blood, or in need of medical care.\u00a0 (Reports call him \u201cwounded but ambulatory.\u201c\u00a0 How convenient that the shot that no one could verify had no apparent effect either.)<\/p>\n

It was that \u201chis buttock was slightly grazed by a bullet.\u201d\u00a0 Except that a Ryan aide on site said she saw him fall FACE UP.\u00a0 Indeed (suspecting Dwyer\u2019s CIA identity, for Ryan was known for his anti<\/em><\/strong>-CIA stance), she speculated that he fell FACE UP (instead of he usual, protective FACE DOWN) so as to be recognized and spared.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Be that the case, then people who fall face up might get shot somewhere else, but not in the buttock, making any story of \u201cface up\u201c seem mistaken.\u00a0 The buttock is a great place to be \u201cslightly grazed\u201d anyway, as no one could or would look!\u00a0 At the same time, it provides the cover of \u201cI\u2019m with them.\u201d\u00a0 How could someone who was himself a victim, possibly be a perpetrator?<\/p>\n

However, we do know that the pilot<\/em><\/strong> was spared, as according to the NBC producer on site, Bob Flick, \u201cThe killers were not attempting to kill the Guyanese fliers.\u201d<\/p>\n

But what would \u201cthe Guyanese fliers\u201d have to do with Dwyer?\u00a0 Well, apparently everything.\u00a0 Dwyer is shown on film escorting the Congressman to the plane as if he too would be boarding.\u00a0 So Dwyer wound up in target range too, didn\u2019t he?\u00a0 Wasn\u2019t he right there with the other passengers?<\/p>\n

Not so fast.\u00a0 Apparently, one single step into the boarding area was as far as he ever got. . . . .<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

For the talented Mr. Dwyer apparently managed to not only be \u201cgrazed in the buttock\u201d when he fell FACE UP, but he also apparently had eyes in the back of his head!:<\/p>\n

Note that by 02:06<\/strong> on the film\u2019s time marker, Dwyer is accompanying Ryan and an unidentified young man towards the plane.\u00a0 He is walking on their right, straight forward at a fairly brisk even pace.<\/p>\n

Now note that the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch (front of the plane, separate boarding hatch) is CLOSED <\/strong>as Ryan and Dwyer are approaching the plane.\u00a0 It does not open until Ryan and Dwyer have passed.\u00a0 In other words, he would have no way to know VISUALLY <\/strong>that the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch has opened.\u00a0 Yet this is what he does (see<\/em> [7]<\/a>, step 7<\/strong>):<\/p>\n

Dwyer has been moving forward in pace with the Congressman — right foot, left foot, right foot, left foot.\u00a0 Then on his last right-step-forward, landing Ryan into the passengers\u2019 boarding area, instead of lifting his left foot to continue onward, or even to come to a halt, instead he leans back<\/strong> on his left foot while he is already pivoting backwards to his left!!\u00a0 At 02:16<\/strong> on the film\u2019s timer.<\/p>\n

And lo and behold, although there is no way<\/strong> that he could possibly know that the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch would by then be OPEN<\/strong>, he has in a nanno-second put himself on a trajectory diagonally back to his left towards the pilot!<\/p>\n

No, more!\u00a0 Within a second of his pivot back left-diagonal, he has already lifted his right hand high to attract the attention of the pilot!\u00a0 Something like, \u201cHere I am!\u00a0 I\u2019m on my way!\u201d\u00a0 (See<\/em> [7]<\/a><\/strong>, step 9.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

There wasn\u2019t a thing about his seamless pivot backwards and that immediate wave of his uplifted hand, which was not strange.\u00a0 Unless of course, Dwyer had eyes in the back of his head to know that the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch would now be OPEN<\/strong>, he and the pilot were long-lost friends, and they needed to discuss the weather for the entire 42 seconds from then on in up until the attack. . . .<\/p>\n

Keep tracking Dwyer:\u00a0 After he raises his right hand over his head, he lowers it back down as he continues to walk straight towards the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch.\u00a0 Ah, but then his right hand is lifted again, but this time not above his head, but rather straight ahead.\u00a0 (See<\/em> [7]<\/a><\/strong>, step 13.<\/strong>)\u00a0 Within a couple of seconds, he has completed a handshake with the pilot who is seen extending his own hand out the hatch.\u00a0 (See<\/em> [7]<\/a><\/strong>, step 15.<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

Then the camera moves back to the passengers waiting to board.\u00a0 Some seconds after that, the only two other passengers besides Dwyer who had been standing near the pilot\u2019s area, cross the screen to join the other passengers waiting to board.\u00a0 (See<\/em> [7]<\/a>, step 18.<\/strong>)\u00a0 But not Dwyer!\u00a0 The camera then surveys the front of passenger group — no Dwyer!\u00a0\u00a0 It surveys the back of the passenger group too — again no Dwyer!<\/p>\n

Then the NBC camera lens picks up the already-parked tractor-trailer by now parked flush-opposite the passenger\u2019s boarding area and the attack begins.<\/p>\n

Thus \u201csomehow\u201d Mr. Dwyer has managed to walk himself into safety, unlike any<\/strong> other passenger there.\u00a0 To go on to claim an injury that he is unlikely to have had, no one could see, and in a part of his body that the gunmen could not reach.\u00a0 But of course, he was also \u201cfine.\u201d\u00a0 Just \u201cbarely grazed.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cWounded but ambulatory,\u201d the reports said.<\/p>\n

O.k., folks, that was just a story.\u00a0 A story about Dwyer too being a wounded victim, and in a manner that would make any tale of \u201cfalling face up\u201d seem mistaken.\u00a0 It would have taken \u201ca magic bullet theory\u201d for this man to have really<\/em><\/strong> been shot.\u00a0 In a straight-line attack (as this was — that\u2018s what a squad diamond with the lead assassin pointing straight forwards is<\/strong>!), any bullet reaching Dwyer would have had to make a 90-degree turn to the left to even \u201cslightly graze\u201d him!<\/p>\n

3)\u00a0 Signaling the Attackers In [8]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s now return to tracking the pilot.\u00a0 He has already achieved Step One:\u00a0 Parking the Plane into Perfect Position for the Attack.\u00a0 <\/strong>When he opens his boarding hatch and leans out, he achieves Step Two:\u00a0 Spotting the Congressman into Target Range.\u00a0 <\/strong><\/p>\n

Now Step Three:\u00a0 Signaling the Attackers In.\u00a0 <\/strong>Note that the still-off-stage attackers had NO LINE OF VISION<\/strong> to the prime victim (the Congressman) or the pilot, either one.\u00a0 They had to be signaled in by SOUND.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This happened in four sub-parts,<\/strong> all trackable on the on-site film:<\/p>\n

First, already clocked on the film is Dwyer reaching the pilot and shaking his hand by 02:23<\/strong> on the film\u2019s time marker.\u00a0 In the succeeding seconds, the two other passengers still near the pilot\u2019s end of the plane, are seen crossing over to join their fellow passengers.<\/p>\n

But not Dwyer.\u00a0 The camera surveys the passenger line and he\u2018s not there.\u00a0 Dwyer stays with the pilot, thus out of the line of fire.\u00a0 (\u201cSlightly grazed in the buttock\u201d?\u00a0 Believe it if you will.)<\/p>\n

Let\u2019s now return to the pilot signaling in the attackers via SOUND:<\/p>\n

The Great Noise Diversion [8]<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Step Three, Sub-Part One <\/strong>([8]<\/a><\/strong>, step 1<\/strong>):\u00a0 <\/strong>The plane\u2019s engines had been idling since 01:27 <\/strong>on the film\u2019s time marker.\u00a0 By 02:43<\/strong> on the time marker (when the sound will CHANGE<\/strong>), that would have been a minute and sixteen seconds.\u00a0 The idling started when the passengers began moving towards the plane and into the boarding area.<\/p>\n

The first Sub-Part leading up to the signal-in was to get Dwyer personally out of target range into a safe zone.<\/p>\n

The NBC camera lens had first spotted Ryan coming onto the airstrip towards the plane at 02:06<\/strong>.\u00a0 By 02:16<\/strong>, just ten seconds later, Dwyer has escorted Ryan to the passengers\u2019 boarding area and was into his instant backtrack diagonally towards the pilot whose own boarding hatch is now OPEN<\/strong>.\u00a0 Dwyer instantly waves his right hand high, lowers it back down, then raises it again, but now straight ahead to meet the pilot in a handshake (02:23)!<\/strong><\/p>\n

The plane is still idling.\u00a0 The camera lens shifts back over to the passenger\u2019s boarding area, we see the two remaining passengers move to join the group, but still no Dwyer.<\/p>\n

Sub-Part Two <\/strong>(tail end of [8]<\/a><\/strong>, step 1<\/strong>):<\/strong>\u00a0 There is 20 seconds more before the first SOUND<\/strong> SHIFT<\/strong>, from 02:23<\/strong> (Dwyer and pilot connecting in a handshake) to 02:43<\/strong> (the shift in sound.)\u00a0 We have no audio on the confab between Dwyer and the pilot, but it would have been prime time to radio (or walkie-talkie) the attackers off-stage. <\/strong>\u00a0(No text messaging yet, folks.\u00a0 This was 1978!)\u00a0 Remember, the attackers across the airfield still had NO LINE OF VISION<\/strong>.\u00a0 Their job was to kill the Congressman, but they needed to know how to spot him instantly:\u00a0 how he was dressed, where he would be standing.<\/p>\n

Sub-Part Three <\/strong>([8]<\/a>, step 2<\/strong>):<\/strong>\u00a0 It is now 02:43<\/strong>.\u00a0 Twenty seconds post-contact between Dwyer and the pilot have elapsed when the sound SHIFTS <\/strong>and that is done by the pilot:<\/p>\n

The plane\u2019s engines had been idling since 01:27 <\/strong>on the film\u2019s time marker, but at 02:43, <\/strong>that changes.<\/p>\n

Now, we\u2019ve all been on commercial airliners.\u00a0 The plane\u2019s idling, but it\u2019s only when all the passengers are boarded, seated and strapped in, that the plane revs up for take-off.\u00a0 The engines\u2019 pitch rises; the volume increases.\u00a0 Only then does the plane\u2019s engine then stay on a sustained higher pitch and volume for take-off.\u00a0 That\u2019s what it sounds like.<\/p>\n

Well, that wasn\u2019t<\/em><\/strong> what 02:43-2:57<\/strong> on the film\u2019s time marker sounded like at all.\u00a0 First the plane shifted from idling to a gurgling sound, then up in pitch.\u00a0 It oscillates up for several seconds and then down several seconds.\u00a0 By 02:57<\/strong> on the film\u2019s time marker, just as the NBC camera lens catches the already-parked tractor-trailer across the way, the plane\u2019s engines have whirred down to near-silence.\u00a0 (See<\/em> [8]<\/a><\/strong>, step 3<\/strong>)<\/p>\n

This shift in sound pattern seemed to<\/em><\/strong> serve no functional purpose.\u00a0 The passengers had not even completed boarding, much less strapped in for take-off.\u00a0 Yet the plane\u2019s engines had switched from a low constant idling to a whirring up and down to a virtual halt.<\/p>\n

We just know that the plane was NOT<\/strong> revving for take-off.\u00a0 This was NOT<\/strong> the reason that the pilot shifted the sound pattern.\u00a0 It was \u201csomething else.\u201d<\/p>\n

Step Three, Sub-Part Four <\/strong>([8]<\/a>, step 4<\/strong>):<\/strong>\u00a0 There is then a tiny lull when the NBC camera catches the attack vehicle already parked at the staging area flush-opposite the victims at 2:57 ([8]<\/a>, step 3.)<\/strong>\u00a0 But lo and behold, a single second later, by 02:58<\/strong> on the film\u2019s time marker, there is a sudden loud ongoing clatter!\u00a0 Like \u201can accompaniment to the kill.\u201c\u00a0 But it\u2019s not at a pitch that was approached gradually, like you would hear a plane\u2019s engine revving up, to then sustain a higher pitch.\u00a0 Not at all.\u00a0 It is a sound which is suddenly a whole tone higher (for the musically-inclined)!<\/p>\n

The assumption<\/em> <\/strong>was that that new, sudden ongoing clatter had been generated from the plane engines.\u00a0 No one ever said different and likely no one even thought<\/em> different.\u00a0 But that makes no sense.\u00a0 Why would the plane engines have just whirred down to nothing; then suddenly be at a constant, higher, louder pitch \u201cfor take-off\u201d when the plane had not even yet fully boarded?<\/p>\n

Plane engines aren\u2019t suddenly at maximum pitch and volume anyway.\u00a0 You can hear them revving up to a higher pitch, even if that happens rapidly.\u00a0 Nor, obviously, was this plane about to take off.\u00a0 The plane engines had just whirred down to near-nothing; but then there is a sudden, loud ongoing clatter on a different pitch?<\/p>\n

Plane engines don\u2019t do that.\u00a0 Your own car couldn\u2019t do that.<\/p>\n

So this was just a perplexing, \u201ccoincidental\u201d intersection of sound?\u00a0 No, not at all.\u00a0 First, the 14 seconds of shift in the plane engine sounds was a great<\/em><\/strong> \u201csignal in\u201d!\u00a0 That 14-second interval (02:43-02:57) in which the pilot revved the engine up and then down, was an exactly expectable time interval for the approach of a long, cumbersome tractor-trailer to cross the airstrip, arrive opposite the prime victim, and park.<\/p>\n

But that 14-second sound shift served another function as well, a critical one; and that has to do with how people perceive sound; also how people perceive generally, especially when suddenly thrust into panic, trauma and shock.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am calling that 14-second interlude of the plane\u2019s engines revving up and then down \u201ca sound segue\u201d — a bridge from one sound to another.\u00a0 Specifically a segue to the barrage of sound just as the attack began, which I am calling, \u201cThe Great Noise Diversion.\u201d <\/strong><\/p>\n

Let\u2019s first summarize the sound shifts as mapped out on [8]<\/a><\/strong>:<\/p>\n

Summary of [8]<\/a>, Steps 1-4<\/strong><\/p>\n

01:27:<\/strong>\u00a0 Sound 1:\u00a0 Plane\u2019s engines begin idling as passengers are coming onto the field to board.
\n02:43:<\/strong>\u00a0 Sound 2:\u00a0 Plane\u2019s engines begin gurgling sound, revving to a slide upwards, then a slide down.
\n02:57:<\/strong>\u00a0 NBC camera lens picks up parked tractor-trailer across the way.
\n02:58:<\/strong>\u00a0 Sound 3:\u00a0 Sudden ongoing loud mechanical clatter.\u00a0 There is no segue between this and the sound before.\u00a0 It is not a return to the idling and it is not a revving up for take-off.\u00a0 But it is very LOUD<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

There is just no reason to think that that new loud clatter was coming from the plane!\u00a0 It was a sudden shift in pitch a whole tone higher and at full volume suddenly<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But how did it seem to the victims?<\/p>\n

The Great Noise Diversion<\/strong><\/p>\n

Well first, a sudden loud ongoing clatter is DISORIENTING.\u00a0 Even if you are just standing there.\u00a0 But if it coincides with an assault, it dulls the senses, dulls the reflexes, and makes communication and coordination with others prohibitive.<\/p>\n

Since it is SOUND, it also diminishes the focus of what one might SEE.\u00a0 Like which<\/em><\/strong> victim did you say was looking the assassins in the face for an i.d.?<\/p>\n

(Or simply go to \u201cEyewitness Identifications?:\u00a0 The NBC On-Site Film Footage Versus the FBI Report\u201d and track the rampant mismatches. . . . )<\/p>\n

This did not even sound <\/em><\/strong>like a plane revving up for take off; it was more like if someone sets up a construction or wrecking crew at some unwelcome hour of the night next to your home.<\/p>\n

And off-hand you might say, well, there is no logical explanation that this racket would be coming from a tractor that is already parked!\u00a0 Yet isn\u2019t that the whole point?\u00a0 That no, it was NOT<\/strong> ad hoc vigilantes from Jonestown who did THIS EITHER?!<\/p>\n

It cannot be explained even by maybe they left the engine of the tractor on.\u00a0 Not possible.\u00a0 It\u2019s a NEW sound that begins AFTER they have parked.<\/p>\n

Yet it had to have come from the attack vehicle, not the plane.\u00a0 To create a deliberate sound diversion<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But again, how did it seem to the victims?<\/p>\n

Well, if the plane had just been idling straight through, instead of shifting into the oscillating up and down sound, then the ear would have clearly heard the sudden loud clatter as coming from a different location.\u00a0 First the plane is doing THIS<\/strong>; then the attackers are doing THAT<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

But the ear was given \u201ca sound segue\u201d — an intermediate sound between the idling of the plane and the clatter from the attackers.\u00a0 So the ear registered \u201cdifferent\u201d when the pilot changed the plane\u2019s sound from idling to whirring up and down; and then again \u201cdifferent\u201d when the sound pattern shifted again to the loud clatter.<\/p>\n

And people do not reflect <\/em><\/strong>in the midst of panic, trauma and shock.\u00a0 The perceptions get bridged, condensed.\u00a0 If one could just sit quietly in the middle of a room and first hear a sound coming from the right and then a sound coming from the left, the ear distinguishes the directional differences.\u00a0 But during panic, trauma and shock, with three successive sounds, the ear just hears the original sound; \u201cdifferent\u201d; and then again \u201cdifferent.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thus no one ever identified that sudden loud mechanical clatter as coming from the attack vehicle!\u00a0 Even though it was logically impossible that it came from the plane.\u00a0 It had to come from the attackers.<\/p>\n

But yet again, this shreds any notion of \u201cad hoc vigilantes.\u201d\u00a0 Bumbling amateurs from Jonestown who might not have coordinated their way through a killing at all, much less set up a deliberate, timed sound diversion using special equipment hardly part of a \u201cnormal\u201c tractor-trailer at all.<\/p>\n

Remember as well:\u00a0 Professional soldiers can function in noisy environments — they are trained to function in all conditions.\u00a0 But what of the victims?\u00a0 No one can focus, gain their bearings, fully control over their reflexes, fully focus their senses, communicate or coordinate with others (like \u201cWhat\u2018s happening\u201c?\u00a0 Or even \u201cRun!!\u201d) over a racket!!\u00a0 Having the assassins coming towards them must have been freak-out enough; but this assassination happened in the middle of a racket!!<\/strong><\/p>\n

But the killers?\u00a0 These guys who were such pros with the footwork, field placement and timing, were undoubtedly able to perform their op through a racket just fine.\u00a0 Part of combat training.\u00a0 Battlefields are not silent places.<\/p>\n

This just doesn\u2019t wash EITHER WAY.\u00a0 I mean, whether the sound came from the plane or<\/em><\/strong> it came from the tractor:<\/p>\n

If it was the plane generating the noise, then there was a factor of EXACT COINCIDENCE <\/strong>timed to the attack.\u00a0 Not to mention the impossibility of the plane just suddenly \u201chitting a high note at full volume\u201d after it had just whirred down to near-silence.\u00a0 Nor was it ready for take-off.\u00a0 This was just a new, different sound.<\/p>\n

If it was the assailants generating the noise, then just another sign that we are looking at pros, not amateurs, because that kind of instant loud sound diversion would have to be engineered, pre-planned, and set off on cue.<\/p>\n

To Review — The Parade of \u201cCoincidences\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n

The pilot first parked the plane flush-opposite the planned staging area for the attack on an airstrip that had no lines or markers, much less runways.\u00a0 Just \u201ccoincidentally\u201d parked it perfect.
\nThen he \u201ccoincidentally\u201d opened the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch to look outside to his back to spot the Congressman into target range just after he had passed by.
\nThen Richard Dwyer, purported CIA plant in the State Department, upon the very step that landed the Congressman into target range, \u201ccoincidentally\u201c peeled himself<\/em><\/strong> out of target range to head towards the pilot\u2019s boarding hatch — with a big hand wave, to boot! .\u00a0 He did that \u201ccoincidentally\u201c when he had no way (shy of eyes in the back of his head) to know that the hatch would be open, much less that the pilot would be waiting for him to arrive.
\nThen Dwyer and the pilot connect in a handshake (and I guess exchange \u201ccoincidences.\u201d)
\nThen the NBC camera shows the only two remaining passengers in the pilots\u2019 area walk over to the passengers\u2019 boarding area.\u00a0 Dwyer \u201ccoincidentally\u201d stays where he is with the pilot, becoming the only passenger in a safe zone when the attack begins.
\n(\u201cCoincidentally,\u201d NBC producer Bob Flick confirms that \u201cThe killers made no attempt to kill the Guyanese fliers.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cLucky coincidence\u201d for Dwyer?)
\nThen there are 20 seconds of unknown coordination between Dwyer, the pilot and (easily done) with the attackers.
\nThe plane had been idling for over a minute now.\u00a0 But now the plane\u2019s engines suddenly shift to a 14-second whirring first up, then down to near-silence.\u00a0 In other words, not revving up, not going anywhere.
\n\u201cCoincidentally,\u201d that corresponded to exactly when the vehicle rolled onto the airfield for the attack!\u00a0 It also \u201ccoincidentally\u201d prepared the victims to perceive the next sound shift as seeming to come from the plane, not from the attackers.
\nThen the NBC camera lens picked up the already-parked tractor-trailer flush-opposite the would-be-departing plane.
\nAll of a second later, there is a sudden loud ongoing mechanical clatter \u201ccoincidentally\u201d as the attack begins.<\/p>\n
