Blanks are left in the text for these areas.\u00a0 [?] indicate questionable readings.<\/p>\n<p><b><a href=\"#Jul76\">List of people and groups mentioned in this Journal<\/a><\/b><\/p>\n<p>===========================================<\/p>\n<p><strong>1 July &#8211; 1976 \u2013 Thursday<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Worked on the Venezuela contract all day except for making a few corrections on a contract for Garb.\u00a0 O\u2019Neill was working on another.\u00a0 Garb had to have both tomorrow and went to Galbraith for permission to pull me off Galbraith\u2019s job.<\/p>\n<p>After getting home from work, I ran in the Panhandle.<\/p>\n<p>Did personal and household chores and washed my hair.<\/p>\n<p>Ate dinner.<\/p>\n<p>Washed my underwear.\u00a0 Did not finish until after 12.00.<\/p>\n<p>I have been thinking how to handle my laundry so that I am not so late on Thursday night.\u00a0 I was not even able to wash any other garments.<\/p>\n<p>I read newspapers. Fell asleep in my chair, so did not get to bed until 2.00.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>2 July &#8211; 1976 \u2013 Friday<\/strong><br \/>\nAfter getting my time card in, I had hoped to be ale to type straight ahead all day on the Venezuela contract and to finish it.\u00a0 But problems and interferences arose all day.\u00a0 Phil Bernal wanted a contract put on ATS today.\u00a0 I told him he\u2019d have to find somebody else to do it or ask Galbraith to give him priority.\u00a0\u00a0 Otherwise I\u2019d have to go to Betty Vasil for a resolution.\u00a0 He got Kate Walker to do it but didn\u2019t have it ready for him to start until mid-afternoon.\u00a0 Some more changes had to be made in Milu\u2019s contract and the page numbers for the index put in and an express print-out ordered and Nicki Maras didn\u2019t have time to do these.\u00a0 I started just before noon and spent nearly an hour on the job.<\/p>\n<p>A new office and shopping center called \u201cMarket Plaza\u201d has just been opened opposite Rincon Annex and after eating my lunch on the PG&amp;E steps I went down to see the festivities (Wells Fargo had been giving away free balloons and there may have been refreshments at the Del Monte site, but I was too late to get anything.<\/p>\n<p>When I got back to the office I found Maggie wanted a change made in her Engineers Liability document and a copy ordered.\u00a0 Marie, who has been extremely helpful, explained what to do, but neither she nor I could make out how to change Dor\u2019s format so as to get what Maggie wanted.\u00a0 She decided to have it typed in by Brenda.<\/p>\n<p>The system was down for about half an hour, preventing me from finishing Galbraith\u2019s document\u00a0 I had five or so pages to go. I ordered a print-out of what I had done. \u00a0I had encountered several in consistencies in capitalization and format, as well as odd wordage, not all of it a result of translation.<\/p>\n<p>Marie worked on the other machine most of the day, until Kate got on it.\u00a0 Colleen worked for a while on my MagCard typewriter.<\/p>\n<p>After leaving the office, I took the bus to the SF Coop.\u00a0 I bought a shopping cart, as it will be useful to bring produce home from the Hayes St. Coop, but mainly to take laundry back and forth from the laundromat, as I have decided to cut down on my home laundry.\u00a0 I was going to try to take a bus home today but I had too much including a watermelon.<\/p>\n<p>I put my groceries away.<\/p>\n<p>I prepared and ate dinner and washed dishes.<\/p>\n<p>Typed in my journal from 11.00 to past 1.00.<\/p>\n<p>Went to bed at 3.00.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>3 July &#8211; 1976 \u2013 Saturday<\/strong><br \/>\nAwoke at 9.00.<\/p>\n<p>Went up to Hayes Neighborhood Coop to be there at the opening at 10.00.\u00a0 Had to wait as they weren\u2019t ready yet.\u00a0 Bought vegetable.\u00a0 Magnolia was shopping there too and I walked home with her.\u00a0 She told me of Temple plans for the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>I put my purchases away.\u00a0 Prepared a meal.\u00a0 I had pancakes, an egg, vegetarian bacon strips, and mushrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Worked on journal entries.<\/p>\n<p>Pressed clothes for the week.<\/p>\n<p>Got a call from Patti Chastain who was given my address for her disability checks and also to her parents because of difficulties caused by her communal status.\u00a0 She lives in the Temple [in the church]. Her parents may be arriving on Thursday and will be expecting to visit with her.\u00a0 She told them she was living with other girls.\u00a0 We discussed a method of handling the situation, so that they would think she lived in the apartment.\u00a0 She will consult Council.\u00a0 I agreed to cooperate.<\/p>\n<p>Slept for 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Received 2 messages from the Temple, the first that service would be at 7.30 and inquiring as to housing for guests.\u00a0 I told them my problem was getting transportation for people I took home.\u00a0 Later I received the other message that we were to wear no uniforms nor headbands to service.<\/p>\n<p>I had a piece of watermelon.<\/p>\n<p>Dressed for the Temple service.<\/p>\n<p>Went to meet Christians at 7.15 as we had been told to be on time to service.\u00a0 We were also told not to wear uniforms nor head dresses as Kathleen Cleaver and her party were going to be in service tonight as part of effort to get a fair trial for Eldridge Cleaver.<\/p>\n<p>CJ Jackson was presiding , took names of people who were driving to the Valley tonight and had room for passengers and then the names of those needing rides. Everybody is expected to go.\u00a0 Some room was found on the buses.\u00a0 Getting enough room for everybody took time.<\/p>\n<p>Rick Cordell indicated who were the new people who had come.\u00a0 Rick told of miracles on the trip.\u00a0 Vera Young, Phyllis Houston, Bea Morton, Beverley Griffith.<\/p>\n<p>Norman Ijames led congregation singing.<\/p>\n<p>Norman took offering.<\/p>\n<p>Vernetta is a greeter and not in service.\u00a0 I had Bobby with me.\u00a0 He wouldn\u2019t go upstairs with the other children, though he didn\u2019t have a seat to himself.\u00a0 The seating was tight and it was hot, so he was quite a bit of trouble.<\/p>\n<p>More testimony.\u00a0 Tish LeRoy. Rick Cordell said it was Masonic Auditorium that they wanted to charge more than their agreement and that Jim walked out.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Brown spoke.<\/p>\n<p>Jack Beam spoke of wreck he was in.<\/p>\n<p>Gene Chaikin described how Jim brought the bus through last night on the Grapevine.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Brown took offering.<\/p>\n<p>Jim finished at 10.25.<\/p>\n<p>Guests were brought up.\u00a0 Two rows ahead of me were saved for the staff who had been talking with Kathleen and her party.<\/p>\n<p>Jim recommended that we write to forms doing business in South Africa, encourage our friends in Rhodesia and South Africa who are dying.<\/p>\n<p>African Dance.<\/p>\n<p>Jim: on plight of Eldridge Cleaver.\u00a0 Lack of justice in having parole revoked,\u00a0 Introduced Kathleen [Cleaver].\u00a0 Speaks of powerful feeling of hope in Temple.\u00a0 Why would anyone want to return?\u00a0 Being alienated from our culture, seeing children become _____ .\u00a0 Shows rare quality of courage.\u00a0 CIA and FBI conspiracy proved.\u00a0 Privileges [?] etc. not stopped, but people who worked against it, wants help in court.\u00a0 July 23.\u00a0 Decide whether Cleaver can come out on bail.\u00a0 His trial not a criminal trial but a political trial.\u00a0 He deserves respect for being alive at 40, because so many did not make it.<\/p>\n<p>Jim called attention that Cleaver\u2019s own followers not here.\u00a0 If we don\u2019t concern ourselves with Eldridge Cleaver, we may be next.\u00a0 Know what we may be getting into .\u00a0 Case will open up whole FBI files.\u00a0 He\u2019s given more than all of you will ever contemplate.\u00a0 Jim ____ ___ ___ FBI agent, kept in tank for 6 months.<\/p>\n<p>Dennis Banks is back in SF.<\/p>\n<p>Jim: will see that Cleaver has an attorney.\u00a0 Has to go through the same thing with Chris [Lewis?], be in court every day.<\/p>\n<p>On Banks.\u00a0 Indian family put up his bail couldn\u2019t make it.\u00a0 $5000.\u00a0 Dennis didn\u2019t let us know.\u00a0 Is on hunger strike against jail conditions.<\/p>\n<p>After healing session, the meeting was dismissed at 12.15.<\/p>\n<p>Pearl Gray who took the section Bobby had had consented to take me and my guests home from LA with the buses with 3 boys.\u00a0 Dwayne, James and Chris.\u00a0 She quickly got her luggage from the buses.<\/p>\n<p>We got home at 1.00.<\/p>\n<p>Beulah and the boys went to bed.\u00a0 I had some toast and peanut butter and toast and jam.<\/p>\n<p>I went to bed at 2.00.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>4 July &#8211; 1976 \u2013 Sunday<\/strong><br \/>\nGot up at 6.00.\u00a0 Bathed and dressed.<\/p>\n<p>Prepared breakfast: toast, eggs, apple and cranberry juice, carob milk for children, and Sanka for Beulah and myself.<\/p>\n<p>Beulah and children I put in a taxi at 8.00.\u00a0 Buses leaving from church at 9.00.<\/p>\n<p>Telephoned Christians about 10.15.\u00a0 Lorenza in the car too.\u00a0 We soon passed one of the Temple buses and later three more of them.<\/p>\n<p>I slept most of the way.\u00a0 Christians gave me some chicken and corn chips.\u00a0 We stopped at a filling station in Cloverdale to go to the bathroom.<\/p>\n<p>We arrived at Redwood Valley about 1.00.<\/p>\n<p>Those coming in cars had to register for housing with Liz Forman.\u00a0 I was assigned to Rita Tupper\u2019s<\/p>\n<p>Service started about 1.45.<\/p>\n<p>I was given a good seat at the right hand side on the front.<\/p>\n<p>Congregational singing.<\/p>\n<p>Johnny Brown took an offering.<\/p>\n<p>Marcy on podium at 2.00.<\/p>\n<p>Jim on podium at 2.45.<\/p>\n<p>The p.l.\u00a0 Not the pains and disappointments there that we have here.\u00a0 No one gave me a moment\u2019s concern.\u00a0 Young people there disprove the doctrine of original sin.\u00a0 Nothing to celebrate on this day except pain.\u00a0 Some have gone out and be traitors.<\/p>\n<p>2007 people sentenced to die by capital punishment decision on Thursday.\u00a0 Israel invaded Uganda today.\u00a0 In SF officials celebrated this is Congregational Church.\u00a0 Religion justifies all kinds of evil deeds.\u00a0 In Muslim tradition women do not even have a soul.\u00a0 In this country where religion doesn\u2019t reign, materialism does.\u00a0 Some of you are very religious.\u00a0 I don\u2019t want title of God.\u00a0 Religion has done nothing for America.\u00a0 Almost harder for a white person (or Mexican) to enter society than a camel to go through the eye of a needle.\u00a0 Whites have a great responsibility here.\u00a0 Do not break anyone else\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n<p>Relationship between husband and wife won\u2019t last.\u00a0 Spoke of women who left children.\u00a0 Left children know they don\u2019t stand alone.\u00a0 Kept Jack Arnold\u2019s record clean,\u00a0 Don\u2019t ask who has been a traitor, as I have never lied to you.<\/p>\n<p>No one else could have taken last night.\u00a0 People build alliances but drop you like a hot potato.\u00a0 Some cop out. \u201cI\u2019m not worthy.\u201d\u00a0 That\u2019s doctrine of original sin.\u00a0 In p.l. environment, opportunity made the difference.<\/p>\n<p>When you hurt children, I\u2019ll never forget it.<\/p>\n<p>Everything we spend here is down the drain.<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t have anything to do with anyone who has gone out.<\/p>\n<p>Videos of promised land, participatory peace.\u00a0 Proof that socialism works.<\/p>\n<p>Preparation to leave after election.\u00a0 Indications.\u00a0 Economy.\u00a0 Israel apt to trigger nuclear war.<\/p>\n<p>Asked those who have regular social security ___ ___ if have 100 people of $200 fixed income we can make it.\u00a0 He took the names and other details on all who get social security and\/or retirement or pensions.<\/p>\n<p>Names taken of those who have children whose other parents exercise custody rights.<\/p>\n<p>Jim asked how many have got passports and those who haven\u2019t.\u00a0 Multitude hadn\u2019t.\u00a0 Jim warns.\u00a0 Price is going up from $13 to $25.00.<\/p>\n<p>Planning Commission to meet immediately after meting dismissal.<\/p>\n<p>We were served dinner outside on the grounds.\u00a0 Seniors were supposed to be served first but even so, it took an hour to get through the line.\u00a0 We had a chicken leg and thigh, green beans, potato salad and punch.<\/p>\n<p>Children got in the swimming pool first. Then seniors were allowed in.\u00a0 I changed into my bathing suit and went for a swim.<\/p>\n<p>Saw Viola Moton, Russ Moton\u2019s mother.\u00a0 She had come with the buses from Philadelphia.\u00a0 Said she might stay this time if her husband comes out.<\/p>\n<p>Georgia Lacy had been dispensing water from a tank provided for our use, as the regular water supply not sufficient even for normal needs this year.\u00a0 I relieved her for about an hour and poured water continually.\u00a0 People had to bring their own cups.<\/p>\n<p>At 7.30 we went inside the Temple again for housing instructions.\u00a0 Liz Davis explained the new system which was necessitated by having so few householders in the Valley any more.\u00a0 Buses and a few privileged cars were used to transport people to Wotherspoons, Maureen Talley\u2019s, Edith Bogue\u2019s, Janaro\u2019s at the ranch, Barbara Cordell\u2019s and the office complex, West house, Jenny Cheeks\u2019s, Pat Grunnett\u2019s, Edith Cordell&#8217;s, East House, Nat Swaney\u2019s, and a few smaller homes.\u00a0 People have been given tags to indicate whether people got a bed or were to sleep on the floor.\u00a0 I had no further formality to go through for my housing.<\/p>\n<p>At Rita\u2019s house I was to have a bed.\u00a0 Helen Snell had the other bed in the room.<\/p>\n<p>Rita was tied up in a government meeting until about 10.30.\u00a0 By the time she returned several other people had been assigned to her house, among them the Mercers.\u00a0 I gave up my bed and slept on the floor.\u00a0 Two people were put on a pull-out couch and the development in the living room.<\/p>\n<p>The nurses\u2019 station was mainstreamed also at Rita\u2019s home and Cathy Jackson, formerly Grauman, was on duty all night.<\/p>\n<p>I helped the Mercers and the other seniors to get to bed.\u00a0 Henry Mercer described some of his activities in the Communist movement.\u00a0 He was interrogated intensively by the FBI just before coming out to the Temple.<\/p>\n<p>Everybody was very cooperative and understanding.<\/p>\n<p>I went to bed about 11.00.\u00a0 Mildred Mercer talking constantly in her sleep for about an hour. \u00a0She finally lapsed into silence and I went to sleep and slept soundly all night, getting up only once.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>5 July &#8211; 1976 &#8211; Monday<\/strong><br \/>\nRita woke us up at 7.15.\u00a0 I helped Sister Mercer and another woman to the Temple for breakfast.\u00a0 The line was very short, but grew much longer. I got food for the Mercers.<\/p>\n<p>The buses were scheduled to take people on a tour of the Temple facilities at 10.00.\u00a0 but did not start on time.<\/p>\n<p>I spent the midday hours writing in my journal in Rita\u2019s living room and walking around occasionally taking to people.<\/p>\n<p>Rita told me which Temple properties had been sold and who was living where.\u00a0 The Temple is still keeping the money-making facilities. Jim said yesterday that the parent house was to be turned into a commune.<\/p>\n<p>Vernell Henderson asked me again when I was going to be able to go communal.\u00a0 I told her that privacy to do my studying and typing was my chief need.\u00a0 She said she thought she could find a suitable place for me in her apartment.\u00a0 Her place had to be used by the Temple for a conference meeting every other Saturday and must be vacated then.\u00a0 I mentioned my dental bill.\u00a0 She said she would go ahead with plans on this basis.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the people sat in the shade, talking and playing cards.\u00a0 Although it was hot in the sun, there was a little breeze.\u00a0 Many stayed in the Temple.<\/p>\n<p>Food was served about 2.00.\u00a0 Jim McElvane lined people up and service was more elderly than yesterday though some people still got in at the head of the line.\u00a0 We had roast beef, beans, a salad and ice cream<\/p>\n<p>Service started at 4.00.\u00a0 Marcy presided took an offering, led the congregation, singing helped by Johnny Brown.<\/p>\n<p>Marcy reminisced about building of the Temple on this site.\u00a0 She came out and purchases the property 11 years ago.\u00a0 Though this land is beautiful and has served us well, the p.l. is the center of the Third World and Jim knows what he is doing.\u00a0 This is a new age and our children are privileged to be living in the beginning of a new age.<\/p>\n<p>Shawn Baker, Chris\u2019 [Lewis] nephew, sang.<\/p>\n<p>Marcy and Johnny Brown took another offering by sum.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd, extremely noisy, had to be reprimanded several times<\/p>\n<p>Children performed a new routine and \u201cJack-Legged Preacher.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Francis directed children in singing, \u201cWake Up, Everybody.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jim:\u00a0 We\u2019re in constant meetings arranging for the greatest adventure ever undertaken by any people.\u00a0 People who become fascists so different from ordinary [?]\u00a0 run.\u00a0 Tests show that only a few unaffected by major opinion.\u00a0 Consented to torture and participated \u2013 70% went along with crowd.\u00a0 Will go along with a crisis made by others in activities contrary to their mortality.\u00a0 Trend toward doing away with those who are handicapped and non-productive.<\/p>\n<p>Americans are hypocrites, don\u2019t live by their own Bible.<\/p>\n<p>Throw away that name of God back in the cesspool from which it came.\u00a0 Condemned such words as King and Lord.\u00a0 No hell but capitalism.\u00a0 Out Saviour is socialism.\u00a0 Religion has been set up to murder you.\u00a0 Back to end [?] ____ are Birdie Marable, Sally Stapleton, and her thieving daughter [Lillie Jo Carr].<\/p>\n<p>For departures we will set dates which are erroneous to deceive enemy.\u00a0 Let the stupid animal fuckers wait on Jesus or\u00a0 take your ___ ___ and ___ ___\u00a0 and give us the world.\u00a0 Much shouting at ironic contemptuous remarks about Jesus.\u00a0 On uselessness of calling upon Jesus.\u00a0 You couldn\u2019t stand it in this room if it were ordinary July 4th weather.<\/p>\n<p>Asked for permission to sell members\u2019 furniture held in warehouse,\u00a0 Don\u2019t need it; make our own.<\/p>\n<p>Jim took count-down offering, with emphasis.<\/p>\n<p>Jim dismissed us at 7.00.\u00a0 LA people were to leave immediately, but LA buses would be held while the government meeting continued for a while.<\/p>\n<p>Christians left about 7.45.<\/p>\n<p>I stayed awake until we got to Santa Rosa.\u00a0 Then slept for an hour or so.<\/p>\n<p>We arrived in SF about 10.30..<\/p>\n<p>I unpacked, ate some fruit. read newspapers.  Went to bed about 12.30.<\/p>\n<p>Among those I had talked to over the weekend were Bob Stroud, Ray Godshalk and Chris Kice.<\/p>\n<p>Bob and I talked about how fascism might come to this country.\u00a0 I told him what circumstances in my opinion might cause it to be imposed and how a leader could come forward.<\/p>\n<p>Ray is living in East House.\u00a0 He spoke almost tearfully of what great power Jim has.\u00a0 Jim\u2019s statements: \u201cbefore the Morning Star was, I was,\u201d and \u201cI am Universal Mind\u201d much impressed him.<\/p>\n<p>Chris is enrolled in the degree program for registered nurses at Santa Rosa Junior College and struggling with her required English course.\u00a0 She has never liked to write,\u00a0 I had her show me what she had written for the class and I gave her some suggestions.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>6 July &#8211; 1976 \u2013 Tuesday<\/strong><br \/>\nI expected Dor to phone in today but none of us heard from her.<\/p>\n<p>I finished the Galbraith contract and ran off on the machine the portions I put on today.\u00a0 Gave it t him to proofread.<\/p>\n<p>At lunchtime I went to see the film in the employee\u2019s series. It was called, \u201cArt is&#8212;\u201c and showed a variety of artists, their work and bits from their performances.\u00a0 Emphasis was on the new and experimental.\u00a0 The only name with which I was familiar was Leonard Bernstein\u2019s but the ballet artists were featured most extensively and were most enjoyable.<\/p>\n<p>In the afternoon Phil Bernal gave me the portion of the draft contract Kate had done for him. It concerned a nuclear power installation.\u00a0 He wanted a double-spaced draft which presents problems in format but worse, the order of his sections was not consecutive and they had to be inserted in the proper places and the material was very long.\u00a0 He wants an express print.\u00a0 Out tomorrow and at the end of the day I did not see how I was going to get through it without help.<\/p>\n<p>The secretarial staff is limited at the moment and except for Brenda who does a great deal of straight typing for us, I had no one to help.\u00a0\u00a0 Several people worked on their own materials in the Center and asked for advice now and then.\u00a0 Marie is on vacation.<\/p>\n<p>I exercised when I got home.<\/p>\n<p>Prepared and ate dinner and washed dishes.<\/p>\n<p>Proofread my journal, made corrections and calendar entries.\u00a0 Finished the 1 to 15 September section.<\/p>\n<p>Took a cold bath.<\/p>\n<p>Read newspapers.<\/p>\n<p>Went to bed at 1.00.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>7 July &#8211; 1976 \u2013 Wednesday<\/strong><br \/>\nTyped all morning on Bernel\u2019s contract, as much new material had to be inserted.\u00a0 I had told Betty Vasil I might have to ask someone for help but by noon I thought I could handle it myself.\u00a0 Later on I found that I was not aware of one big section which also had to go in.\u00a0 Fortunately no one else was working in the room in the morning.<\/p>\n<p>I ate lunch on the PG&amp;E steps.<\/p>\n<p>Bernal wanted an express print-out.\u00a0 The deadline for ordering one is 2.00 o\u2019clock.\u00a0 I had not been able to make minor corrections and with difficulty finished at 2.15.\u00a0 I phoned the computer center to see whether they would expedite my print-out.\u00a0 They were very cooperative but due to the slow action by the messenger service I did not get it until after 3.00 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p>When I got home I took an hour\u2019s nap.<\/p>\n<p>Ate dinner.<\/p>\n<p>Left for service with Christians at about 7.45.<\/p>\n<p>We didn\u2019t get into service until 8.10.<\/p>\n<p>The usual preliminary activities with Bob Christian, Wesley Johnson and CJ Jackson. Lynn later asked me if I would be interested in working on the Program Committee.\u00a0 I told her my doctor had ordered me not to take on any extra work.<\/p>\n<p>I had not finished Galbreath&#8217;s contract at closing time and got permission to stay late to work on it as he wanted it in the morning. 1976 \u2013 Friday<\/strong><br \/>\nSpent most of the day on the computer with more revisions of Miclu and Galbraith\u2019s documents.<\/p>\n<p>I have not felt well all week, have had much trouble with allergy which came on me Sunday, though it was better today.<\/p>\n<p>I ate at my desk.<\/p>\n<p>I went to the bank, deposited my check and got cash.<\/p>\n<p>Dor was still working on her reports.\u00a0 She had acted somewhat distant all day but I thought her mood was probably caused by her dislike of doing the report.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I had made several mistakes of omission, since the Miclu and Galbraith jobs were complicated but had corrected them all.\u00a0\u00a0 Another little point arose concerning the Miclu does and I made a mild inquiry as to whether it had to be done today.\u00a0 It was about 4.15.\u00a0 This set off a diatribe from Dor.\u00a0 She complained about my lack of diligence recently, implied that my efficiency let down at the beginning of the week at the end.\u00a0 She did not have much sympathy \u201cwith my need for more test.\u00a0 If the work comes in it had to be done.\u00a0 If I didn\u2019t do my share,\u201d I\u2019m the one who\u2019ll have to do it.\u201d\u00a0 She thought I was bored with the work and speculated that it might not be as exciting as my experiences in foreign countries and differed from teaching.<\/p>\n<p>I was quite shocked at the venomous nature of her remarks but tried not to respond much, except to say that I had not felt well (I didn\u2019t say anything about her heavy smoking which she should know prevents me from recovering from my respiratory problems.\u00a0 I took care of the correction on the Miclu job, went to the bathroom to prepare for leaving.<\/p>\n<p>When I returned, Dor immediately apologized for what she had said.\u00a0 She had known she had made a mistake as soon as the words were out of her mouth.\u00a0 She did not, however, withdraw her statements, beyond saying that there are always 2 sides to everything.\u00a0 Again I tried not to carry on the discussion.<\/p>\n<p>Took the bus to the Coop.\u00a0 Bought an ice cream cone.
