He wanted to come and talk to Dick Dwyer on the radio. I don\u2019t know if it\u2019s too late or not. I\u2019ve been trying to get him all morning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Uh\u2013 Last I knew he was at the Embassy. But that was an hour ago.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> Oh, I see.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Uh\u2013 He wanted to talk to Dick Dwyer on the radio?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> Uh-huh.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Okay, well\u2013 What do you want me to do? T\u2013 Try to find him and tell him to go over to the house?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> Well, it\u2019s\u2013 it depends uh, if he comes right, uh\u2013 see\u2013 it\u2019s getting close to the time when they\u2019re gonna be leaving, so [unintelligible] Lemme check. Hold on. He was\u2013 he\u2019s the uh, staffer on the Congressman\u2019s uh, trip. He was up with there with the ambassador with Mr. English earlier this morning.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marine:<\/strong> Okay. This morning when Mr.\u2013 The ambassador came in, he came in by himself, and uh, Mr. English was here, but he was by himself.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Well, Mr. Schollaert was there \u2018cause he called me from the embassy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marine:<\/strong> I see. We\u2013 no, I haven\u2019t seen him. Hold on. Lemme ask Mr. Weaver if he knows. [covers phone and speaks to someone nearby, then returns to phone] Mr. Ellice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Yeah\u2013 (Pause)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marine:<\/strong> Uh, no he\u2019s not, Mr. Ellice.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Okay, good. The Peoples Temple just called me and they wanted to find Mr. Schollaert, because <em>he<\/em> apparently wanted to talk to Dick Dwyer. They wanted\u2013 Peoples Temple wanted Mr. Schollaert to know that they probably weren\u2019t going to be able to put him through to Dick, because the group is rounding itself up now and getting ready to go down to the airstrip in another hour.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Oh, it sounds like they\u2019ve\u2013 Well, I guess it\u2019ll take\u2013 it\u2019ll take a while. So maybe the 2 o\u2019clock uh, departure time is gonna hold, huh?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Yes. They have\u2013 they have no information to indicate that it won\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Okay. Well, I was just making arrangements to have Peter, who is Duty Officer, uh, go out in my car to meet uh, uh, the Congressman and bring him back to my house.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Okay, fine. Do you want me to do anything?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> I don\u2019t think so, Doug. I think that, uh, Sally is going to send out uh, Dick\u2019s car with Sidney\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Okay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> \u2013uh, same time. So there should be transport out there by 3 o\u2019clock.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Okay, good. Well, uh, the reason I\u2019m calling is they want to talk to you or Jim Schollaert on the d\u2013 uh, Dick Dwyer said he has to talk to you or Jim Schollaert before he leaves. And I can\u2019t get a hold of Dick Schollaert\u2013 no, he\u2019s not at the embassy, not at the hotel, so\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Wait a minute. My daughter\u2019s on the extension. [pause, commotion in background] Yes, please hang up. That was my three year old girl. Uh\u2013 wha\u2013 Dick just said he wants to talk to me?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> You or Jim Schollaert, and I cannot get a hold of Jim Schollaert. Uh, in meantime, there\u2019s not gonna be room on that airplane for anybody to come out and we\u2019re probably gonna need another small airplane. Uh, or, uh\u2013 [unintelligible] gonna have to stay and take the first flight out [unintelligible string] Matthew\u2019s Ridge. Uh, [unintelligible string] exact number of people, uh, but I don\u2019t want anybody else coming up in that airplane. And uh, if we can find a small [unintelligible string relating to GuySuCo, a sugar company which owned airplanes]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> Well, okay, you have six people coming in besides the whole group, right?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dwyer:<\/strong> Uh, yeah\u2013 as far as I can tell\u2013 [unintelligible] and uh, probably don\u2019t want anybody to get on the airplane. Not because there won\u2019t be room at this time and uh, I uh, expect to find another small airplane, uh [unintelligible word] GuySuCo airplane, why, uh, we need that, too.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> Okay, so you don\u2019t want anybody coming in on the airplane and uh\u2013 [unintelligible] you\u2013 you have six people coming b\u2013 back, okay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dwyer:<\/strong> [unintelligible string] We\u2019re not exactly sure. It may be more than we can handle [unintelligible string]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Amos:<\/strong> Okay, uh\u2013 you said something else I didn\u2019t copy. I\u2019m trying to reach Mr. Frank English, our administrative officer, who may be there at the Pegasus with one of your guests, Mr. Schollaert. Could you ring Mr. Schollaert\u2019s room, please?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Receptionist:<\/strong> One moment please.<\/p>\n<p>[long pause, extraneous noise, unrelated exchanges.
