Hold on a second. [covers mouthpiece, pauses] I\u2019ll call you right back, sir.<\/p>\n<p>(Phone being dialed and rings)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yup.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Sir, have you got a pencil and paper? [Pause]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yeah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> I should read this to you, but I don\u2019t know what it means. And if there\u2019s any more, I\u2019ll just drop the phone and try to get it, if you don\u2019t mind. Uh\u2013 Three people were asked to receive this and no one else. And when they were assembled, it was, \u201cA lot of people have seen\u2013\u201d<br \/>\n<strong>Burke:<\/strong> Pardon?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> \u201cA lot of people have seen Mr. Fraser. Uh, \u201cA lot of people have seen Mr. Fraser.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yeah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> \u201cI think Mrs. Brownfield has offered to help.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> [repeating back] \u2013Brownfield has offered to help.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> \u201cShe\u2019s three\u201d\u2013 or perhaps it was, \u201cfree.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Three or free.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Right. \u201cGet SB\u2013 \u201d or perhaps it was, \u201cFB\u2013 to help and get all the other folks.\u201d And then there was something about, \u201cHey, I\u2019ve got an idea, how about Mrs. Gilliam?\u201d And they said, \u201cYeah, get her too.\u201d It\u2013 It\u2019s some obvious sort of code and it sounds\u2013 sounds very, very strange. Uh\u2013 just wh\u2013 when these people were standing by to receive this message, they were told to clear the radio room and uh, only have certain personnel there. They called up and said, \u201cYeah, we heard\u2013 GDF at Ogle has heard something about a problem at Port Kaituma.\u201d So maybe something going on up there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Hmm.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> SB could be a \u201cSpecial Branch\u201d. Mrs. Gilliam could be GDF. I don\u2019t know, may- But\u2013 I\u2013 it\u2019s an obvious encryption. I\u2019m not reading something into it, \u2018cause they\u2019ve been talking in the clear all day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yeah, yeah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> This means something.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Okay.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> But it seems to be calling for action on <em>this<\/em> end, because it was upstairs that was calling, and they asked for certain parties here to copy the message and no one else so\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yeah. Yeah.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Maybe they\u2019re planning something for the airport.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yeah. Okay, nothing, uh\u2013 I\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> We still don\u2019t know who\u2019s coming <em>out<\/em> though.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Well I tried to get, uh\u2013 I tried to get Peter Londono [phonetic] but, uh, that number you gave me at GAC, and he wasn\u2019t there. Uh\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> He just called me, and said he doesn\u2019t know anything except that the plane is still on the ground at Port Kaituma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Oh, it\u2019s still on the <em>ground<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Yes. And I\u2019m not sure how\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> What he told me is he didn\u2019t have an ETA or anything.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Well, they may be having some sort of a hassle out there at the airstrip.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Yeah. But anyway, I called Sharon Amos, and uh, they\u2019ve had no contact with Jonestown.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Okay. Good. Thank you very much.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reese:<\/strong> All right. You wanna call me back about the other thing [unintelligible]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Right\u2013 uh\u2013 Peter thinks the planes may still be on the ground at Kaituma.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reese:<\/strong> Oh, really?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Yeah. [Pause] Something now about Mr. Fraser. Are\u2013 are you\u2013 Is your radio on?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> I can\u2019t pick it up. I thought you were\u2013 said [unintelligible string]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Shortwave 1:<\/strong> Well, they\u2019re on their way to see him.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> They\u2019re on their way to see Mr. Fraser. Sounds like they\u2019ve got people going down to the airstrip. Uh, I don\u2019t know that we\u2019re ever going to figure out\u2013<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Well, yes. What airstrip are we talking about?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ellice:<\/strong> Kaituma. Uh, I don\u2019t know that listening to this, we\u2019re\u2013 we\u2019ll ever figure out what they\u2019re talking about, but there\u2019s trouble up there.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Burke:<\/strong> Well, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s gonna really help us very much, Doug, one way or the other. Uh\u2013 [unintelligible words] monitoring if there\u2019s anything from it.
