For information of Alexandria, the Department of Justice (DOJ), Civil Division is interested in obtaining the assets of the People’s Temple (PT) to repay the government’s expenses incurred in bringing the bodies back.<\/p>\n
San Francisco is in possession of 25 bearer certificates for an apparent PT Corporation in Panama.<\/p>\n
DOJ is interested in obtaining the certificates which represent $250,000.00.<\/p>\n
Two FBIHQ supervisors, [names deleted], are currently in San Francisco and returning to Washington, D.C. <\/p>\n

on Friday, January 12, 1979, aboard TWA flight 890, which arrives Dulles Airport at 4:37 PM, EST. The supervisors will hand carry the certificates.<\/p>\n

FBIHQ is requested to coordinate with Alexandria and Mr. James Hergen, DOJ, Civil Division to obtain the certificates from the supervisors and get them to Hergen. UACB [Unless Advised to Contrary by the Bureau], the supervisors will meet either Alexandria agents or Hergen at the Dallas Resident Agency.<\/p>\n
