The following information regarding results of interview of Vernon Gosney and [name deleted] [Jackie Speier<\/span>] is set forth pursuant to specific request of Legat Oglesby for dissemination to local authorities Georgetown, Guyana:<\/p>\n

Vernon Dean Gosney, white male, DOB March 19, 1953, interviewed by San Juan Division November 27, 1978. Gosney was wounded severely during the Jonestown incident, receiving wounds to liver, abdomen, spleen, and diaphragm. Gosney identified Stanley Gieg as being driver of truck that transported Ryan and group from camp to airstrip on day of shooting.<\/p>\n

Gosney also advised that Gieg, after dropping off the group left the airstrip and returned on the tractor that contained the attackers. Gieg was seen with a weapon and engaged in shooting.<\/p>\n

Gosney suspected trouble because the truck was delayed leaving Jonestown, and the fact that Layton and Joe Wilson accompanied them.<\/p>\n

Gosney also advised it is his belief that attack was planned during assembly of Jones’ followers prior to the truck leaving Jonestown. An assembly was always held when some type of action to be taken by Jones to resolve any type of problem.<\/p>\n

[2 lines related to Speier<\/span>] was interviewed November 22, 1978, by Baltimore Division. [Speier<\/span>] suffered bullet wounds of [medical information deleted]. [Speier<\/span>] was unable to identify any individuals involved in shooting incident (supra). [Speier<\/span>] said that a total of 16 Concerned Parents accompanied the congressional party and press representatives to Guyana on November 14, 1978, arriving at Georgetown. All of the group stayed in Georgetown<\/p>\n

except Beverly Oliver, Steve Katsaris, Jim Cobb and Carolyn [Carol] Boyd, who stayed Jonestown. [Editor’s note: Anthony Katsaris, Steve\u2019s son and Maria\u2019s brother, joined the Congressional party to Jonestown]<\/p>\n

[Speier<\/span>] said Ryan went to Jonestown on Friday, November 17, 1978, and stayed until Saturday, November 18, 1978, taking about 20 declarations from Jonestown residents who desire to leave with the Congressman.<\/p>\n

[Speier<\/span>] said on November 18, 1978, a truck containing 28 people, including 16 defectors, left Jonestown for the airstrip eight miles away. The driver was Stanley Gieg of Concord, California, who also had driven them from the airstrip to Jonestown the previous day. Among the effectors on the truck was Larry Layton, brother of brother of Debbie Layton.<\/p>\n
