[Name and identifying information of Stanley Clayton<\/span> deleted], U.S. residence given care of mother, [name and address deleted], met by Buagent on arrival at Miami International Airport (MIA) via ALM flight 1\/14\/79.<\/p>\n

Due to late arrival of flight at MIA and fact [Clayton<\/span>] had a connecting flight to San Francisco leaving shortly after arrival at MIA, [Clayton<\/span>] not fully interviewed re his knowledge of possible conspiratorial aspects of Jones cult, matters pertaining to drug smuggling, narcotics trafficking,<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] did furnish description of self and related his personal affiliation with People’s Temple since he became member in 1971. He advised he arrived at Georgetown, Guyana, March 1976 and proceeded on to Jonestown about four days later. Further advised he remained in Jonestown until day of massacre and while a member of community he was a [deleted].<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] stated his late return to U.S. because [line deleted] wife remains at Georgetown, however [Clayton<\/span>] hopes to subsequently bring her to U.S.<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] advised he escaped to Jonestown on day of massacre by “slipping by” guard armed with cross bow. He wandered in brush for a time until he came to farm house on main road. A Guyanese farmer directed him to the location of other survivors at Port Katima [Kaituma] (ph). He was subsequently interviewed by Guyanese authorities and then released.<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] advised Odell Rhodes known to him at Jonestown as a teacher of children, because Rhodes was skilled in arts and crafts which Rhodes taught children. To [Clayton<\/span>]\u2019s<\/p>\n

knowledge Rhodes not a member of security force or “hit team.\u201d<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] stated he was treated cruelly while at Jonestown and was periodically guarded along with certain other commune members by a guard with shotgun.<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] fully cooperative and willing to be interviewed by Buagent on his arrival in San Francisco.<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] departed MIA on board EAL flight 501 which is due to arrive San Francisco at 8:45 PM.<\/p>\n

[Clayton<\/span>] is wearing dark brown, two-piece leisure suit and carrying a brown and yellow suitcase.<\/p>\n
