At 1:30 p.m., 11\/20\/78, Ms. [deleted name], US State Department Task Force \u2013 Guyana, telephonically provided the following information to SA Robert P. Finzel:<\/p>\n
The State Department has received information through the office of Congressman Jim Weaver that a secretary in his Eugene, Oregon, office may have information concerning the People’s Temple Cult bearing on the killing of representative Leo J. Ryan and other members of his party at a commune in Guyana. The employee is [deleted name], FTS [deleted number]. According to Ms. [related name] this individual lived in Guyana for approximately three years and is quite concerned about the welfare of her mother who is currently believed to be with the Cult in Guyana.<\/p>\n
A second individual [deleted name] of San Bernardino, California, [deleted name] currently has a mother who is a member of that Temple in Guyana and Miss [deleted name] is in possession of considerable correspondence from her mother containing information on the Cult and its activities.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
