Inasmuch as the number of survivors of the People Temple to be flown from Guyana to Charleston, S.C., has increased upward to a figure of approximately 115, and since possibly 10 individuals are to be arrested based upon arrest warrants, manpower commitments have been altered. Columbia has utilized headquarters city agents as well as agents from five resident agencies. We will have 30 agents in Charleston to handle the interviews and other arrest situations. The arrests and subsequent interviews and arraignments will take up possibly 8 to 10 agents for about three hours; and under the circumstances, we could utilize about 8 more agents to assist in conducting interviews of the remaining Peoples Temple survivors. Based upon prior Bureau authority, I am requesting four agents<\/p>\n

from Charlotte and four agents from Savannah to proceed to Charleston to assist in the interviews. The agents should report directly to the Holiday Inn on Aviation Avenue, which is near the Charleston airport, no later than 1:00 P.M., on Sunday, November 26, 1978. This aspect is being handled via telephone with these two offices.<\/p>\n
