Vernon Gosney interviewed this date and advised that Jones maintained a security force some members of which were known as “Angels”. The Angels were approximately 38 in number. He advised that mission of the “Angels” was to serve as hit men in the event that the Jones\u2019 movement, Jones himself and the Temple were interferred [interfered] with or destroyed. The “Angels” were to kill all “traitors” who had left the movement and any persons designated by Jones to be killed. Gosney mentioned <\/p>\n

that U.S. Senator John Stennis was on the list and “it would not surprise him if Stennis was killed”. Gosney had no information regarding additional persons on the hit list nor did he know who was maintaining the “hit” list.<\/p>\n
Gosney furnished a list of “Angels” and the below listed “Angels\u201d are currently believed by San Juan to still be in Georgetown: Deborah Touchette, Claire Gianero (Janero) [Janaro], Tim Carter, Michael Carter, Michael Prokes, Steve Jones, Cleve Swinney and Helen Swinney (may be in Trinidad aboard vessel Albatros [Albatross]).<\/p>\n
Gosney described Steve Jones as extremely dangerous and a maniac. He also indicated that members of the “Angels”, if interviewed, would appear to be cooperative. Gosney further advised that the following individuals are “Angels” in the San Francisco and Northern California areas: Don Beck (schoolteacher in Ukiah, California. Extremely loyal to Jones and dangerous), first name unknown (fnu) [Michael] Klingman, Tim Clancey, Leona Collier, Sandra Bradshaw, Tom Adams, Jeannie Brown and Jean Crim (phonetic) [Crym]. Gosney advised that of the above Leona Collier is extremely dangerous.<\/p>\n

The following is a list of the basketball players mentioned in previous teletypes: Steve Jones, Tim Jones, Michael Touchette, Lee Ingram, and ffnu [John] Cobb (brother to Jim Cobb).<\/p>\n
Available descriptive data regarding above individuals being assimilated at San Juan and will be furnished.<\/p>\n
Receiving offices should, in interviewing any possible “Angels” the alert to the fact that they will appear to be cooperating any [and] may even show a hatred for Jones and his movement.<\/p>\n
