The deleted information from the memorandum \u2013 designated by brackets \u2013 which is known to the editor has been indicated by red type.]<\/p>\n<p>0 282346Z NOV 78<br \/>\nFM PORTLAND (89-140) P<br \/>\nTO DIRECTOR FBI (89-4286) IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nSAN FRANCISCO (89-250) IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nCOLUMBIA IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nBT<br \/>\nUNCLAS<br \/>\nRYMUR, 00: SAN FRANCISCO<\/p>\n<p>Re PD tel to Director, November 21, 1978.<\/p>\n<p>On November 27, 1978, [name and address deleted], [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Garrett Lambrev<\/span>] Jacksonville, Oregon, telephone [number deleted], telephonically contacted FBI, Medford, Oregon, stated he is former member of People\u2019s Temple (PT), and stated he wanted to talk with FBI agent.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">[Lambrev]<\/span> voluntarily appeared at Medford FBI and furnished following information on November 28, 1978:<\/p>\n<p>PAGE TWO PD 89-140 UNCLAS<\/p>\n<p>He was member of PT from March, 1966 to August, 1976. He met Jim Jones within one year of Jones\u2019 arrival in Ukiah, California, from Indiana. He advised he was very active with PT and one of his duties was to organize anti-war demonstrations for PT in Ukiah and San Francisco, California, during period 1966 through 1970. He stated he left PT in August, 1976, and feels following individuals are very strong supporters of PT and are very powerful in the organization:<\/p>\n<p>Tim Carter; Mike Carter; Mike Prokes; Carolyn Layton, whom he considers to be very powerful and could emerge as next leader for PT; Bonnie Hildebrand Beck and Don Beck, Redwood Valley, California (they live approximately two to three doors away from forty-acre ranch owned and run by PT in Redwood Valley, California); Lee Ingram, aka Nicky Ingram, black male who is very powerful and who has considerable influence on black members of PT; Joanne [Joan] Pursley, age nineteen, very dangerous, reportedly living in Berkeley, California, her parents are former members of Communist Party; Jim Randolph, treasurer of PT in San Francisco, California; Patty Cartmell, sexual<\/p>\n<p>PAGE THREE PD 89-140 UNCLAS<\/p>\n<p>secretary to Jim Jones; Ron Talley, WMA, DOB October 17, 1945, Long Beach, California, reputed to be on tractor and trailer that left area after Congressman Ryan was murdered. Talley is ex-felon, is notorious lock picker and is very heavy in drugs, and is individual who furnished Percodan and other drugs to Jones and PT members. He stated he lived [deleted information] at either 136 or 146 Church Street, Ukiah, California, from May, 1974 to October, 1975. Joe Wilson, black male, who reportedly also was on tractor-trailer. When Congressman Ryan was killed, he escaped in the jungle; considers Wilson to be highly dangerous. Sandy Bradshaw, last known residence San Francisco PT. Terry Buford, whereabouts unknown.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">[Lambrev]<\/span> stated during his association with PT, he can recall Jim Jones stating before congregation that he was metaphysically involved in the fire at San Francisco Examiner building, but investigators could not prove it. He also stated PT in San Francisco, California, was firebombed in fall of 1973 and Jones suspected Nation<\/p>\n<p>PAGE FOUR PD 89-140 UNCLAS<\/p>\n<p>of Islam (NOI) in doing this, but within short period of time, there was meeting with NOI concerning the incident. [Name deleted] stated Edith Bogue and Tony [Tommy] Bogue may have numerous tapes of Jim Jones concerning various meetings in San Francisco PT; however, he does not know their current whereabouts.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">[Lambrev]<\/span> stated Bobby Houston was killed on railroad track in San Francisco, California, on October 3, 1976, and conjecture had it either Jack Beam or Lee Ingram, aka Nicky, possibly could have been involved in some way concerning Houston\u2019s death. He stated he has no factual information regarding this, but indicated investigation had been conducted abySan Francisco Police Department.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">[Lambrev]<\/span> stated [Name deleted] and [Name deleted], former PT members currently residing in Ukiah, California, should be interviewed concerning their former membership in PT.<\/p>\n<p>He also stated [Name deleted], currently residing in<\/p>\n<p>PAGE FIVE PD 89-140 UNCLAS<\/p>\n<p>[address deleted] Washington, was former high official of PT in San Francisco, California; however, he would have to contact Mr. [Name deleted] to determine if [Name deleted] is interested in being interviewed by FBI. He stated he will make effort to contact [Name deleted] and in turn, contact Medford FBI.<\/p>\n<p>San Francisco at Ukiah, California, will locate and interview [Name deleted] and [Name deleted], former PT members.<\/p>\n<p>Columbia at Columbia, South Carolina, when interviewing returning survivors from PT in Guyana, will note information furnished by <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">[Lambrev].<\/span><\/p>\n<p>FD-302 follows.<\/p>\n<p>BT<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>[Editor\u2019s note: One of the subjects of this serial whose name is deleted is former Temple member Garrett Lambrev.
