1. Government-owned “Guyana Chronicle” of December 1 reported that a spokesman for the Ministry of Home Affairs had “explained” on November 30 that “No members of the People’s Temple were granted Guyanes [Guyanese] citizenship earlier this year” as had previously been reported by the press.<\/p>\n

2. The spokesman confirmed that five members of the People’s Temple had applied for Guyanese citizenship, but “their applications were undere [under] consideration,” according to the Chronicle.<\/p>\n
