They are combined here for flow and clarity.]<\/p>\n<p>0 072014Z DEC 78<br \/>\nFM FBI DALLAS (89-205) P<br \/>\nTO DIRECTOR FBI (89-4289 [4286]) IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nFBI HOUSTON (89-156) IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nFBI LOS ANGELES (89-436) IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nFBI MEMPHIS IMMEDIATE<br \/>\nSAN FRANCISCO (89-250)<br \/>\nBT<br \/>\nUNCLAS E F T O SECTION ONE OF TWO.<br \/>\nRYMUR. 00: SAN FRANCISCO.<\/p>\n<p>Re Dallas teletype to Bureau December 1, 1978, and Bureau teletype to Dallas December 5, 1978.<\/p>\n<p>[Name deleted], aka [Name deleted] [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Faith Kice<\/span>] (protect identity), reinterviewed late PM December 6, 1978, and provided the following information regarding Larry Eugene Schacht.<\/p>\n<p>Schacht joined Peoples Temple (PT) in Ukiah, California, in approximately 1969 or 1970. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] would not state Schacht\u2019s reason for joining PT but stated Schacht was quickly evaluated<\/p>\n<p>PAGE TWO DE DL #0004 UNCLAS E F T O (DL 89-205)<\/p>\n<p>by Reverend Jones and members of &#8220;inner circle&#8221; as extremely intelligent individual who demonstrated unstable, insecure emotional state. Schacht possessed dissatisfaction with &#8220;state of things in general\u201d. Schacht characterized as extremely rebellious personality and according to [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>], it was these personality flaws which prompted Jones to personally select Schacht to attend medical school to serve Jones\u2019 and PT ends. At PT expense Schacht and several other PT members, whom [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] declined to identify, were sent to Mexico for the purpose of attending medical school. Mexico selected as education in this field could be more quickly completed than in the U.S. Schacht returned periodically to PT, San Francisco, California, and Ukiah, California in 1971, 1972 and 1973 and worked closely with Joyce Parks, as Jones\u2019 personal physician. Schacht and Parks provided and administered various narcotics to Jones, namely barbiturates and amphetamines, upon which Jones extremely dependent. Schacht characterized by [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] as loner who was used as tool by Jones. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] stated she does not know of subsequent medical training received by Schacht subsequent to her defection from PT. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised the only \u201cBecky\u201d she knows in PT was one Becky Bikeman [Beikman],<\/p>\n<p>PAGE THREE DE DL #0004 UNCLAS E F T O (DL 89-205)<\/p>\n<p>the adopted daughter of Reverend Archie Ijames. Bikeman was teacher\u2019s assistant in PT church, San Francisco, California, in 1973. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] knows nothing of Schacht\u2019s marriage in Guyana.<\/p>\n<p>During the course of the interview, [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] furnished the following information:<\/p>\n<p>The \u201chit list\u201d was largely compiled by Jones and select members of PT as direct result of media attack made on Jones and PT by the Reverend Lester Kinsolving in the early 1970s. Kinsolving, whom [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] did not further identify, blamed Jones and PT for disappearance of a Negro female defector and her four-year-old adopted son. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised this Negro female, whose name she does not recall, granted accessibility to confidential PT files maintained by inner circle member Linda Amos, and discovered Jones was a fake. This Negro female contacted Reverend Kinsolving with this information. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] stated this Negro female and her son were \u201clast seen alive\u201d in Reno, Nevada, in approximately 1972 and she \u201cbelieves\u201d they are now deceased and buried in Redwood Valley, California, on PT land owned in name Carolyn Layton. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] intimates personal knowledge of this crime but will not elaborate further.<\/p>\n<p>PAGE FOUR DE DL #0004 UNCLAS E F T O (DL 89-205)<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised hit list devised this time to detail with &#8220;enemies&#8221; of PT and Jones. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] initially refused to furnish any names on hit list because of her direct personal involvement but that during the course of the interview, told interviewing agents the following persons were included on the hit list as of 1973: then-President Richard M. Nixon; then Vice-President Spiro T. Agnew; then U.S. Representative Gerald Ford; Tim Stoen (PT defector); Marshall Kilduff (not further identified); Phil Tracey [Tracy] (not further identified); Reverend Lester Kinsolving.<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] additionally advised Congressman Leo Ryan was aware of PT early 1970s, although Ryan was not serving as a congressman at that time. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] stated Ryan had made a number of inquiries of PT regarding their activities while [Kice] in inner circle and was regarded by Jones at that time as a threat because &#8220;Ryan was too inquisitive&#8221;. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] does not recall Ryan&#8217;s official office in 1970s, but believes he was in California legislature. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] declined to state if Ryan was on hit list at the time of her defection.<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised that she has personal knowledge of cave located on land in Redwood Valley, which land purchased from Golden Rule Church by PT. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised various items belonging to PT stored in this<\/p>\n<p>PAGE FIVE DE DL #0004 UNCLAS E F T O (DL 89-205)<\/p>\n<p>cave but she declined to identify these items. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised she had been in this cave on previous occasions.<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised [Name deleted] blackmailed Jones for $10,000 cash for return of files taken by [Name deleted] at time of [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>]\u2019s defection. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] confidentially characterized [Name deleted] as &#8220;most intelligent&#8221; of inner circle and stated [Name deleted] has personal knowledge of capital crimes committed by Jones and PT. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] stated [Name deleted] extremely sophisticated and convincing liar and able to convince &#8220;almost anyone&#8221; of anything. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] stated she has high personal regard for [Name deleted] because [Name deleted] only person known to [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] who was able to fool Jones and accomplish her own goals while working for Jones. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] reiterated she would be key witness to past capital crimes committed by PT.<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised she has &#8220;solid&#8221; documented evidence against Jones, Sandy Bradshaw, Terry Buford and other PT leaders and possession of this information kept [Name deleted] alive since her defection. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] did not further elaborate on this.<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] again stated [Name deleted], Terry Buford, Carolyn Layton, and Sandy Bradshaw had planned murders of PT defectors in closed inner circle meetings and that a number of these persons<\/p>\n<p>PAGE SIX DE DL #0004 UNCLAS E F T O (DL 89-205)<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;disappeared&#8221; subsequent to these planning sessions. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] advised Mark Lane, Charles Garry, Sandy Bradshaw, Terry Buford, Mike Prokes, and Jean Brown, were considered by her most dangerous individuals currently in PT. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] did not elaborate reasons for this.<\/p>\n<p>[<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] stated [Name deleted] [<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Debbie Layton Blakey<\/span>], who is currently <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">cooperating with U.S. State Department<\/span> [information withheld], could corroborate information previously furnished by her, although she does not wish to be identified to [<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Blakey<\/span>] as source of this information.<\/p>\n<p>During last two interviews of [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>], [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] has refused to furnish certain information to the Bureau. [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] has stated that she will furnish no further information regarding hit list contingency plans for PT [2 lines deleted]. It was explained in exhaustive detail to [<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Kice<\/span>] that her cooperation desperately needed and was in her best interests.
