During interview of [name deleted] (protect) she advised a First Name Unknown (FNU) Mendelsohn and a FNU Andress were on the People’s Temple (PT) hit list. San Francisco speculates these people are Robert H. Mendelsohn, Assistant to the Interior Secretary and Cecil Andrus, Interior Secretary. The speculation is based upon Mendelsohn’s previous high political profile in the San Francisco area and the fact the two names were mentioned together.<\/p>\n
Washington Field Office (WFO) should note [name deleted] left the PT [several words deleted, likely a date] and information has been developed the PT hit list vary depending upon who Jim Jones was annoyed <\/p>\n

with at various times. Further, in debriefing a top PT member who claims to be a recent defector and who claims to have been in charge of the political assassination list, did not indicate either Mendelsohn or Andrus are currently on the list.<\/p>\n
