“Tinetra, 49 years ago today, I gave birth to you, my first born child. What a beautiful baby you were and you grew up to be an even more beautiful woman – inside and out. You were an artist, a designer and you could have done so much with these gifts. You were a gutsy strong willed little girl. You always wanted everyone and everything to be alright and would try to do whatever you could to make it so. You with the heart of gold tried so hard at living life. I remember how you would tilt your head to the side and smile with your lips tightly closed - melted my heart because sometimes your eyes would be filled with sadness and at other times happiness. Did I tell you enough how very much I loved you and how very proud I was of you? I hope so. When I last saw you it seemed as if you had at last found the happiness you so longed for. You seemed at peace. Rest well my first born. I love you - Mom ” - Juanell Smart

“I honor you and my friendship with your mom. I know, you are loved. ” - Susan White Hicks
