Information Concerning this Archived Site

Source: http://www.mpwfoundation.org/ (Inactive)

This is the archive of the website for the Mary Pearl Willis Foundation, named after a member of Peoples Temple who died in Jonestown in 1978. Lela Howard, the niece of Ms. Willis, established the site in 2007 initially to pay tribute to her aunt and to document the efforts to identify the location of Ms. Willis' unmarked grave in a Louisiana graveyard. After a successful campaign to rebury her aunt, Ms. Howard then transformed the foundation into a source of financial assistance to low income families so that "unmarked graves are no longer an option." The foundation became inactive in 2009.

In the interest of preserving the information from the Mary Pearl Willis Foundation site for future generations of Jonestown scholars and researchers, the managers of this site obtained permission from Ms. Howard to archive this work in its entirety.

"I'm impressed with your Labor of Love and commitment to my mom.  How you have honored her.  More importantly, how you have obeyed GOD.  I'm excited to see your reward, which will surely come. The Word says 'that your Labor of Love will not be in vain.'  I know you did it without asking anything in return, but that's how GOD works! Much love " - Brenda Willis, Minnesota

"I'm so proud of all your hard work with this website. This is just the beginning of the rest of your life journey.  Now let's go get some funding!!" - Audley and Pamela Chisholm, California

"To think that this has burdened my heart for nearly 37 years and whatever kind of MAGIC  you've been able to work has taken a weekend essentially to do, to get my dad his headstone is incredible! I am in tears over here thinking about it!" - Susan Hicks, Virginia
