From about 1953 on, television brought a new dimension to understanding history. We thought we could watch it as it evolved. We could see the characters and personalities, and we could see the consequences immediately. In other words, we could not just ignore the world around us anymore. This lecture will examine that part of U.S. history which allowed the creation and ...

Of course, he also interviewed all of the more public and available survivors, family members, and connections. In March, his book ROAD TO JONESTOWN was published. Now he is doing the road tour to introduce his book and touch on a few of his discoveries. I am a Jonestown survivor, and travel often, to universities, conferences, Quaker Meetings, and other OSHER and community gatherings around the country. I rarely ...

Then, we got into the war in Vietnam. I did not want the world run by bullies, nor by vigilantes. I tried as a single, naive woman to change some things - but was pretty powerless, it turned out. ...

Other remaining survivors and close friends had different experiences in Peoples Temple and have their own unique reflections. I speak only about myself and my thoughts today. 1- What was it about Jim Jones that first attracted you to the Temple? From the first time I met Jim, in Redwood Valley, I was impressed at his inclusion and affection for all of us. He would hug, smile, congratulate, assist and nurture all of us regardless of age, ...
