Dear Rev. Jones;

This letter is being written to request that you accept appointment to a three year term on the Mayor’s Commission on Human Rights. I know of your deep concern and sincere interest in the problems facing the Commission and your counsel and experience are needed for the trying days ahead.

I do hope that you will consent to accept this appointment and we will be grateful if you will let us know at your earliest convenience about what your decision is in regard to this matter.
