Summary:

This is a radio broadcast recorded off the air of a program about a trip that California Congressman Ron Dellums and Oakland Superintendent of Schools Ruth Love took to Cuba. There is a ten-minute segment on side 1. Side 2 contains the bulk of the broadcast.

FBI Summary:

Date of transcription: 3/14/79

In connection with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s investigation into the assassination of U.S. Congressman LEO J. RYAN at Port Kaituma, Guyana, South America, on November 18, 1978, a tape recording was obtained. This tape recording was located in Jonestown, Guyana, South America, and was turned over to U.S. Officials in Guyana and subsequently transported to the United States.

On March 7, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B62 #35. This tape was found to contain the following:

Side A: Radio broadcast with Congressman RONALD DELLUMS and Oakland Superintendent of Schools RUTH LOVE regarding their visit to Cuba.

Side B: Continuation of above broadcast.

Review of this tape showed it contained nothing which might be considered to be of evidentiary nature or beneficial to the investigation of Congressman RYAN.
