Summary:
Andrew Young, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, appears on the ABC news interview program “Issues & Answers” on this undated tape recorded off the air. He addresses such topics as the treatment of blacks in South Africa, the prospects of that nation obtaining nuclear weapons, and peace negotiations in the Middle East.

Date of transcription: 3/14/79
In connection with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s investigation into the assassination of U.S. Congressman LEO J. RYAN at Port Kaituma, Guyana, South America, on November 18, 1978, a tape recording was obtained. This tape recording was located in Jonestown, Guyana, South America, and was turned over to U.S. Officials in Guyana and subsequently transported to the United States.
On March 7, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B62 #36. This tape was found to contain the following:
Side A: Thirty minute recorded broadcast of Issues and Answers program featuring United Nations Ambassador ANDREW YOUNG.
Side B: Blank tape.
Review of this tape showed it contained nothing which might be considered to be of evidentiary nature or beneficial to the investigation of Congressman RYAN.
