Letter from David G. Bromley

Mr. Haulman,

I am writing in support of completing the memorial to those who died at Jonestown. I understand that there has been controversy surrounding the erection of this memorial and that strong sentiments are involved. However, the tragedy at Jonestown is an event of historic importance in American history. This memorial will constitute a physical marker of that event even while the continuing debate over the meaning of the event continues. It is important both to the families of those impacted and to the historical remembrance of the tragedy that the memorial construction process be completed.
