New documents, tapes appear on Peoples Temple ham radio site

This past year saw several additions to the Peoples Temple “ham” website.

I have added several PDFs of FBI documents that relate the use of amateur radio by Peoples Temple in Guyana. Many documents are communications concerning ham radio operators that had some kind of contact with the Temple radio operators in Jonestown.

Two tapes, Q1289 and Q1290, are newly released from the State Department. Originally made on November 18, 1978 from the home of Douglass Ellice, US Consul in Georgetown, the tapes contain conversations between Ellice and John Burke, as well as other government officials. They also contain conversations with Sharon Amos, as well as background noise including ham radio traffic between Georgetown and Jonestown.
