Eight months of full time research and writing has finally culminated in American Prophet, a screenplay chronicling San Francisco Chronicle reporter, Marshall Kilduff, and his investigations into Peoples Temple.
Following revisions and work on Nightswimming, a screenplay about two New Orleans homicide detectives, American Prophet consumed all of my time and energy as I labored intensively over details big and small – striving to fulfill a plethora of artistic objectives. As intended in its conception, American Prophet, was completed with its central narrative and overall perspective coming from the Kilduff character and his associates as they carried out their investigative reporting.
It certainly comes as no surprise that the current recession has hit our economy hard – including the life and breath of the independent film industry. Due to this, American Prophet continues in its search for a buyer. Several high profile independent film companies, including ThinkFilm, have expressed interest all additional details will continue to filter into this report.
From the bottom of my heart, I endlessly thank all of those who helped in making this project possible. Stay tuned for updates.
