Summary:
The only significant story in this short news tape covers the police crackdown in Iran on the protestors against the “USA’s-backed Shah of Iran.” Jim Jones also offers news bulletins on alleged government involvement in the assassination of Malcolm X, the role of six Bolivian women in the overthrow of that country’s dictatorship, and the possible contamination of the Ganges River in India by nuclear radiation.

Date of transcription: 3/28/79
In connection with the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s investigation into the assassination of U.S. Congressman LEO J. RYAN at Port Kaituma, Guyana, South America, on November 18, 1978, a tape recording was obtained. This tape recording was located in Jonestown, Guyana, South America, and was turned over to U.S. Officials in Guyana and subsequently transported to the United States.
On March 21, 1979, Special Agent (name deleted) reviewed the tape numbered 1B62-81. This tape was found to contain the following:
Short news broadcast by JIM JONES, topics included, current unrest in Iran, Revolutionary Socialistic Movement, Government involvement in murder of Malcom-X [Malcolm] and overthrow of military dicatorship [dictatorship] in Bolvia [Bolivia].
This tape was reviewed, and nothing was contained theron [thereon] which was considered to be of evidentiary or beneficial to the investigation of Congressman RYAN.
