There were 87 members of Peoples Temple who survived – their names are listed here, the circumstances of their survival are listed here – but there were 25 others connected in some way to the Temple who were in Guyana but who did not perish.
With a couple of exceptions, they comprised two groups which had traveled to Guyana in mid-November 1978 in conjunction with Leo Ryan’s fact-finding mission. Half of the people continued on with the congressman to Port Kaituma and Jonestown; the other half remained behind in Georgetown.
